hard to find before march 2006 now, ie cheap tax model lol

plenty of good ones after, 2007/2008 etc

fill in with more details, budget, what your doing with it, what engine etc

email Rotorworks Automotive Garage N.I - Mazda Rotary Specialist
rotorworksautomotive@gmail.com

@rotor_dude ,
I have taken a notion of one of these as a garage queen. Mainly because they are within budget, rwd and can take the kids if need be etc. Also like the novelty of the ****el.

I have been looking at runners but there is a big risk and alot of unknown examples.
So now am thinking of one with a duff engine that I could rebuild myself. But would want a clean rust free shell to start with. Can these be got for 500 odd quid? Or is this unrealistic?

Also would a DIY rebuild be feasible in my garage? I.e. any special tools required or expensive rebuild kits etc.

Any input very gladly accepted!!
Cheers

get one with a blown engine and stick an LS in it or something :grinning:
Have read that a conventional IC engine change is difficult due to the compact size of the W@nkel and steering rack location etc. Never mind a v8 lol
I also like the appeal of a rotary and if I knew it was rebuilt right it should do good service if treated correctly.

Like I said. Not crazy at all!

There's a fella Jonny who works out Craigavon direction I think, he's known on the Irish Rotary forum. I've lost his number but he's well regarded and worth seeking out. Will rebuild an engine and provide a warranty as long as it doesn't get used on track. Real nice fella.

Alternatively you could go to the likes of Kent rotary (many others available) and get one that's been rebuilt or one that comes with the compression test results. Last I looked they had about 6/7 on Autotrader including a couple of cheap PZ's. Weren't mad money either.

buy one that’s running but needs rebuild

if these things give up they are 2 - 3 times more expensive to repair than rebuild
