Friend of mine from PVG (Karl Rowntree) was at the Ultimate Street Car show at the weekend. He own's one of the best kept and most stunning Nova's in the UK. Its plain, simple, low and very very fast!

He was approached from one of the Fastcar guy's, who told him he wants to feature his car! He absolutely cant believe it. He thought it was too subtle for it!

The guy told him the scene is changing, and the mag's will slowly but surely be featuring more and more subtle car's. And they recon "street sleepers" (STD looking subtle car's with huge engines) will be the next big thing.

Personally i'm glad to hear it. I havent bought max power/fast car/red line for over 3 years, as its full of too many stupid looking car's!! Looking forward to seeing alot more thought out car's with more attention to detail! After all, less is more ;)

i dont think the scene's changing much its the fact that ppl are seeing how much of a waste of money it is to pump into silly bodywork

The scene isnt changing its just the tits at the magazines are only noticing it now. Vw's and Fords have been doing this for years

Very true, so have the vauxhall lads. The majority of Vaux's at the big show's, especially Nova's are always very subtle, clean etc.

The documented scene is going to change, hopefully! So if you've just bought 20's, jap kit and wide arch kit for your corsa, hopeing to get it featured, think again :p

as a serious advocator of subtle styling Im glad to see it but I think Ill miss seeing the more extreme cars at shows and in mags. Its good to see how far things CAN be done - not necessarily because you want to copy but because its different from what you see day to day.

A good mix of both will be welcome in my eyes :grinning:

All I can say is that Fast Car have been to all of our underground race meets here in Birmingham where there are no stupid bodykits, just cars with big engines and big power etc.
They have absolutely loved it every time. I think its starting to show.

Fast Car are a bunch of fools. According to them Zetec125 used to build RC cars on his kitchen table.

Andy doesnt have a kitchen table. :?:

They just decided to forget about all the work Holden did to the car. Just left him out altogether.

Well its definitely a change for the better. If the main modified mags started featuring more cars like that and toned down the tack I might start reading them again.

but they dont usually mention other people's input to their cars

chris did great work on andy's fez but in fast cars eyes its andys car and the article is about him - they should have mentioned chris work too

But they made it up. "Andys history in racing RC cars?" never happened. "Used to building model miniatures?" Nope, that never happened either.

@ Cooper, you love the tack. I saw you looking lovingly at that green bodykitted Saxo on Saturday.

it all for the best now we might b able to see some subtle cars in the mags now instead of the over modded corsa`s saxo`s and the likes.
