As the title, this years Street Weekend takes place over Friday 14th to Sun 16th June.

What is Street Weekend.

A " Drag n Drive " Event.
Two tracks
Santa Pod Raceway in Wellingborough

Melbourne raceway in York.

The itinerary as follows.

Friday morning sign on at Santa Pod. Make as many passes as you like then submit the time you wish.

Then head North for Melbourne raceway via specific checkpoints, Humber Bridge, Skegness Pier etc. all checkpoints are mandatory stops and proof must be lodged with race officials.

Saturday. Make a pass at Melbourne and submit your time of choice, ( Melbourne is 8th mile )

Hit the road again back to Santa Pod .
Hit all the checkpoints on the way .

Sunday, repeat, (if you are still in one piece)

Lock your final time in and thats you done for the event.

Your combined three times gives you an event average.

There are 200 vehicles entered, from Andy Bonds 6 second hot rod through to , well, me. In my 20 yr old bmw .

Its been a very long time since iv'e done something for myself.

I head for the boat tomorrow morning.

I cannot wait, time to make some memories.

Made the boat despite the traffic. Currently bobbing around the ocean for the next 6 hrs.

What an amazing day. Got to Melbourne raceway around 6.30 this evening. I was one of a handful if racers to make a pass before the rain came in at Santa Pod, they called it for the day and all times are null and void. The field will reset and continue tomorrow.
I dont factor in the rankings at al but i would love to come away with a time slip from every day.

Day 2 done and dusted.
Wasnt the greatest pass but decided one was enough then we can sit and watch the now 170 car field make a hit.

Currently sitting 139th

Amazing day at Melbourne, theyve done fantastic things there and i for certain will be back.

Rough day on the roads, weather was terrible, traffic was slow. Just a relentless journey back down the country.

Checkpoints were " The Motorist"

And Northern Classics.

Last day tomorrow back at Santa Pod.

Seen the time and was well impressed, then remembered it was an ⅛ so no idea how that stacks up in the ¼. Love the whole drag week type concept and would love a crack at something like this

Mid 15s 1/4 mile. Not fast at all pretty funny that back in the day a standard sierra cosworth ran the same times. Coming from a 12 sec beetle to a 20 year old diesel barge has been fun.

Might not be the fastest but it's still oe hell of an experience. Not so sure it would be as pleasant an experience doing 12s in the ¼ and sleeping in the beetle though

Job done. An amazing three days. I finished 139th out of the 190 cars entered. Absolutely chuffed to get a timing slip from every day as only half the field managed it due to the rainout on the first day.
My final pass at Santa Pod was dissapointing, a great launch and a decent 60ft for the big barge ( 2.1) then lost boost in 2nd and 3rd gear. It would have easily been a 14. Sec pass but hey ho.

All in all a brilliant yet gruelling three days.
