Updates: Addition of a Ladies’ category on the Drag Strip
Let's say two girls line up, one in a Type R Honda (Fwd Class) the other in a 1400 Clio (Light Weight Class). Chances are the Honda is gonna just edge it!
This does NOT necessarily mean that the Honda driver will be the winner of the Ladies' category. Basically, the lady driver with the closest time (percentage-wise) to their class winner will be the winner of the Ladies' category.
(Assuming the girls don't actually win their class outright, which makes it simpler).
Light Weights – Standard cars <1200cc 16v or <1400cc 8v.
Standard cam profile, carb / injection system and manifolds. Pump fuel only.
Diesel Class – Pump fuel only
<1600 n.a. – (Engine conversions – the capacity of the transplanted engine must not be greater than that of the original unit fitted by the car manufacturer. EG a 1.2 Nova may have a 1600 Honda engine, as the Nova Gsi was also a 1600. ) Pump fuel only.
Fwd – Unrestricted class.
Rwd – Unrestricted class.
4wd & Specials – Unrestricted class.
"Fwd Modified" may be introduced in the future, depending upon entry numbers. The current Fwd Class will then only be for cars with limited modifications.
The Race program has been condensed to allow more track time for drifters plus the best drivers in the best turned out track day cars. Congratulations to Ian Robinson for winning the Drift Competition last time out, showing that he was the master of the mixed track conditions.
