Heading down to this on Sunday for my first ever trackskills event. In the fifty shades of Grey 350z 😜

Couple of questions:

Have a set of nearly done tyres on the front.
Should I change them before Sunday, or replace them after the weekend destroying the old ones on track? Forecast looks dry. So I'm edging towards the latter.

Any other prep I should be looking at?
I plan on changing the oil/filter thru the week here, recently put new rear pads in, changed all brake fluid and have a spare set of front pads just in case.

Any other tips?
Hope to see some of you guys there. I know @Coog was booked in for sure 👍

I’m far from an expert but I think you’re better to track worn tyres. New tyres tend to get absolutely wrecked. You’ll just need to keep a good eye on the front passenger side one.

Good job you posted this I thought it was 17th!! Have done and will manage absolutely no prep!

I would advise swapping the near worns to the rear if the wheels aren't staggered?

Best having as much steering grip as possible was what I was advised.

If they're staggered, and they can be swapped left to right maybe do that after one or two sessions to keep the front left from obliterating and upsetting your home journey 🤣

Won't make this one myself unfortunately even though I've recently gotten the car to damn near perfect maintenance wise for track use 🤣

Yeah they're staggered which is a pain in the balls. Also directional I think.

Is there usually someone to change tyres available at the track? Could potentially bring spares if needed
I’m 9/10 confident I’ll be there. Handy to know I can get a lift home
Ya reckon lol 🤣🤣

Hi, I was in the silver/red Leon. Your 350z was really doing well today. I was very impressed how it performs as a stock ish car. With some hot pads and sticky tyres, you would be setting very good pace. Fair play, not just because it was your first time, but you genuinely were driving well.

I had mighty crack. My camber bolts loosen up and my tracking was all over the place after the second session and it really put me off. But I made the best of it..

I wasn’t being antisocial coog every time I went to say hello you were chatting to someone and of course I buggered off early.

Wee swift was swift enough but far too nice and shiny to be in a track!!

Haha same then saw the mini with the bonnet up and pool underneath it and figured you probably had enough on your hands.

I have a tool there to release the tensioner on the R53 charger. You’re welcome to have it. Can bring it back to Belfast from the workshop on Friday.
