Winter storage and MOT prep done today. Full steam clean and then hand washed and degreased underneath and up in around all the nooks and crannies, surprising what dirt gets in there even when it’s only really a summer car. Still looking as good after 4 years of ownership. It will get a new coat of dynax UC when it comes out if hibernation in spring.

I have @Wilseyvr6 and a fair chunk of dough in the last few years. It was always a good base to start with coming from Japan with no corrosion, it just needed a lot of scrubbing and using the right cleaning products.

Thanks @Lappintyre it is when you consider the age of it, there’s no rust whatsoever on it, hard to believe. I just have to keep it that way as they aren’t making anymore of them.

Cleaned it last night into the darkness as for some reason there was like sticky glue residue on the back passenger quarter panel, quick hoover and dry, happy as a pig in .....

Then this morning I got an SOS call from a friend with a flat tyre before work so head off to help, take off wheel, put in boot, take her to garage, tyre fixed, back, fitted, job done. Boot is now dirty, foot well dirty, tools everywhere :worried: ah well, good deed done for the day and saved her £130 on a new tyre

I've started working on the notchy steering in the Z4, modded and regreased the EPAS worm gear and start stripping down the steering rack. That'll get cleaned and regreased, new track rods and ends. Thinking I might do droplinks and ARB bushes while I've got it in the air

Left it in for a final bit of paint (front bumper)

Looking forward to getting it back and a proper clean down before winter

It has a couple of layers of Dynax UC already on it and up in side the chassis legs etc as with being the RA and JDM they come with nothing from factory just what looks like some sort of primer layer. It gets a wipe down again each spring with some tarminator to take off the dusty top layer and a new coat added

Ah not so bad, doesn’t look like anything’s in it. Must look into that stuff

Yeah it’s very light, gives a slightly waxy felling matt finish, I wouldn’t use it on a car that gets driven in winter though
