Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but i've been getting a lot of quote requests via PM and wanted to explain that whilst I can indicate whether it's worth putting an application with us, ultimately the application will need to be made via our website.

So, if your policy falls due for renewal shortly and you would like a comparitive quotation to see if we can help.

Alternatively, it may be that you're changing to a performance/modified car, or adding modifications to your car that your existing company can't help with.

Either way we'll try our best to help, so if you get 5 minutes spare log onto Greenlight Insurance

Here ends the information broadcast from the Greenlight party ;)

Kind regards

Tony

What age are you: 33
How many years ncb: 12
Penalty points?: 3 missus 3 also.
car insured on: Impreza WRX Bugeye
price: £650.

your own name?

No, apparently I cant have two performance motors under one policy so the missus had to put the policy in her name with me as main driver.

Costimg me 300 quid a year more as she only had a couple of years ncbs compared to my 12, fantastic.

Hi Brendy,

Just saw your post about hughes charging £300 more and getting you to cover the vehicle in your own name.

To be fair to Hughes this was probably due to your looking to use one set of accrued NCB (that was already being used upon the X5 with us) on two vehicles at the same time. Which is something that most Underwriters will not do.

A handful of Insurers will do a mirrored NCB, but due to the nature of the risk involving this magnitude of vehicle (impreza/EVO/Porsche/ferrari/maserati/lotus etc.) the respective Underwriter is likely to require actual NCB and would probably refrain from covering vehicles like this on an introductory/mirrored NCB basis.

Thus the switch to your wife's name in an attempt to at least use some, rather than zero NCB was probably what happened.

Anyway, it's been a while since we last spoke so I hope that youve had a great christmas & all's been well with you and yours (y)

Kind regards

Tony

Yea matey likewise, hope you had a good christmas holiday, weather must be a pain in the arse though!
The insurance under Zoes name is just to get back onto a years ncbs then Ill be giving you a shout, hughes are covering a few years where she was under my cupras insurance so we'll see how it pans out. Mileage wise, we certainly arnt going to break the 7k or whatever limits I have mentioned on both policies so hopefully that will help reduce the premiums next year too.

Not really to be honest, i was shafted with Directline because i declared my alloys on the Passat. If it wasnt for that, the quote would have been lower and Adelaide could have beaten it.

Also thats for my Scottish address which is more expensive than Belfast.
