Lyons senior and myself went to the plate auction earlier this year, expecting a bargain going by the estimates beside each plate. After a commical hour later, we left as all plates were going for extortionate amounts.

Im looking to get a new plate which they have advertised in a tender auction. So basically i submit a bid and hope its the highest- the highest wins it.

Has anyone any experience of this, and can advise on what sort of amount i should be bidding?

Depends what the plate is lyons...

The likes of CIJ 1 (which I had) will get much more than B18 DIK..

Give us some idea...

You had CIJ1? Why on earth would you ever get rid of it?!

Its a 2 digit plate, but the numbers arent the same. The only thing i can see other people wanting it for are the letters, but even then its no JIL etc.

I would fancy a 3 digit NI number and was meaning to go up for a nosy but couldnt make it that day.
