They should bring overstay fines in immediately, there's someone in Bangor that parks up at 530pm and is there until 7am the next day. Sooner I get moved in and get a home charger the better.

I don't think there is such a thing as an "EV specific" tyre. Just the usual - watch load rating, etc.

They do tend to run "eco" tyres as standard with low rolling resistance, but that's not really "EV specific" either. Just the usual tradeoff between efficiency and grip.

Manufacturers will always push their own tyres. In some countries you can only legally run manufacturer specified tyres and have no choice. Thankfully we can still choose. For now...

The Tesla's (well mine with the 18s) has Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Acoustic which look like this inside....

They're about £13 dearer per tyre.

The V60 Polestar used "acoustic" Michelins as well, it's a way of managing road noise in the cabin. They come in manufacturer specific versions, the ones for the V60 were marked "VOL" for example. There were others marked for Mercedes, and so on. Made a huge difference for road noise, especially on corrugated concrete motorways. But you can run anything else if you want, many did to save money. And then complained about the road noise 😅 You make your bed.

Again not "EV specific" though.

It’s been that way for years, I’d say alot of DLA cars are applied for by “granny” and used by the sons/daughters family instead you only have to look at some of the brand new motors in certain parts of Belfast in particular to know that’s the set up.

EV grant now going completely. Tax incentives for company cars remain, for now.

Don't think it is that big a deal at this point. A 1.5k grant for, on average, a 50k car really is neither here nor there, is it?

The planned mandate on manufacturers to sell a certain portion of EV, that's a bigger deal in that story I think. Just kicking the ball down the hill as usual.

I spotted a new Nissan Leaf being used a s a taxi the other day. I didn’t think they had much of a range.

The amount that drivers could claim was reduced from £2,500 to £1,500 in December. Electric cars priced under £32,000 were eligible. Mainly Vauxhalls, Fiats, some Mazda, some MG, Nissan, Renault, Smart. Doable but not massively desirable, although I quite like the Mokka.

Are you sure? Quite a lot of extra load stamped versions of regular tyres as there’s so much lard in them.
Likely XL's, yes, but not EV stamped and therefore not specifically EV tyres.

For as long as I remember, I've had XL tyres fitted to my ICE cars.

I think the Tesla comes with T0 marked tyres, probably much like the N0’s that came on the Porsches etc.
