Disagree there, i have a 182 clio, group 16, am only 20 and got fully comp insurance under my mums name 4 £1480 I was a v.happy man

Surely with the golf being a car with a large following you have the possibility of getting insured through a club cheap.

Got my mini insured through a mini club for £562 fully comp 17 year old on R's

im with quinn and hav 2 yrs ncb n im 19 insured fully comp on a saxo vtr its group7 insurance n im payin 1350 a year!my 1st year insurance cost 2800quid on a 1.3 encore fiesta which i think was grp 3 insurance! 306 d-turbos are not hard to insure i had 1 before the saxo n it was 350 quid less!

I am insured through EA Davies in Glengormley (don't have thier number off hand) on my mk2 Golf 1.3 and they have a special Volkswagen discount. Might be worth giving them a try, though I think your best bet is a 1.3 or else a 1.6 Driver.
