They have been doing it for a couple of years in Japan G. Its simply known as "backwards entry"...
Some have perfected it, but alot of the time, the drivers admit that they either didnt do it intentionally or else weren't aware that they entered the corner in such a fashion...
all i will say is all drifters try it, thats not to say they suceed! i am good at backward entrys, backwards into tyre walls that is lol
nah in all serious, phil-rae was in the car with me for a few laps one day with steve hawthorne taking photos from the tyre wall and i think i might of got close on a few occasions, i know steve has the photos to prove it also!
We were chatting to Mark Luney one night about it and he was saying the reason you dont see it a lot in competitions is because you cant carry any speed through the corner
And my only thought was that its taken the drifting community to really show how to do this 23 years after Ari Vatenen was filmed doing it on Pikes Peak with no run off or safety barriers.
