Finally found a nice one with some extras which are hard to find as most Golf R's seem to be poverty spec lease cars.

I looked at this one just as the owner had done a deal to trade it in, then I called the dealer to enquire about it and no one called me back, then when the dealer advertised it, it sold in 2 hours so I missed it again, then the finance fell through so I got a call yesterday and jumped at it.

Lapis blue
19" pretorias
Dcc suspension (great job and rare)
Keyless entry
Apple Android car play for media and navigation

Car was immaculate when I got it, 50 miles later and it looks like this!

I'll get it cleaned when the weather picks up.

Pretorias and Lapis blue is definitely the combo for a hatch.
I was dubious about the ride quality on the 19" but with DCC there's nothing to worry about, just change the mode to comfort! If I got one with the 18" Cadiz wheels that I don't like I was considering getting 18" Pretoria reps.

Already I am thinking Revo Stage 1 and DSG paddle extensions!

What's the cost of the Revo Satge 1 and who's good for it?

Very nice indeed! Would’ve loved a blue one.

Will be interesting to see what you make of the DSG.

I think i would have kept mine if it had DCC fitted but without it on the 19`s it could be quite uncomfortable. The blue looks good even if it is dirty.
Health to enjoy.

Very nice. Decent spec too. Great cars, I love ours - esp. the DSG.

Get a JB4 if it still has any warranty left.

JB4 for VAG 1.8 and 2.0 TSi

I drove a manual one thinking I'd like it but the manual box isn't great imo, bit vague and rubbery. Drove a Dsg and liked it, better than a BMW 8 speed zf but not as good as a DCT.

I think for the majority of the time the Dsg will be better for me. The manual in the M3 cemented that over the last few weeks, a manual is an unnecessary to chore to drive to work in traffic.

Lovely car @mike150 I'm sure you'll love it for the 2/3 weeks you keep it :p

All joking aside, I had a look around this R today and it's immaculate and a fantastic spec.

Great cars the Golf R's. They do everything so well.

Best of luck with it mate (y)

They are such an easy fun car to drive fast or slow and so far it hasn't tried to kill me on a greasy winter road which is a plus. I can't say that for the M3!

In a way I'm kind of sorry I got a nice one right when the M3 sold, I was hoping to be without a car for a few weeks cause my mate was going to lend me a car he isn't driving................an Aston Martin DB9 :joy:

I rang this morning to tell him I wouldn’t be needing a loaner!

What's the best way to up the bhp on these?

I'm thinking Revo stage 1, Tourqetronix or Autotune. I don't know all the options. Before I start researching what way have others gone and at what cost and what result?

I've already ordered some black alloy Dsg paddle extensions, if nothing else they should look nice!
