a lot of things can get missed during servicing but changing the oil and filter is a must.

I know of a lady whose hatchback was taken to its supplying garage/dealer in north Down for a service.

A while after that it broke down on the motorway/dual carriageway, recovery man said the sump plug was missing/there was no oil in the engine.

Peter Vardy Jaguar in Aberdeen did the annual service on an XJ a few years ago.

The guy picked up the car, all is well. Within 10 miles, the engine locked up. Turns out they had drained the oil, but not replenished with new.

Peter Vardy actually had the check to say it was the owners fault for not checking oil level before setting off šŸ¤£

Owner got a new engine from Jaguar, Peter Vardy footed the bill, and he sold it onwards not long after - and never stepped foot in a Peter Vardy dealership again. Some dealerships still believe that Arfur Daley is the messiah.
