no, i'm 24, been driving since i was 18. clean licence so far, bar maybe a fixed penalty for using my phone when driving.

8pm sat on the m1 between stockmans and blacks rd. cop was alright, pretty much what you'ld expect from a cop that;s just caught you speeding.

anyone know how they react to speeding in lisburn??

How were you caught - was it a patrol car/bike or a trap at the side of the road?

Mm
I usually come on here and give off about speed cameras nicking people for a few mph over the limit , but that's not the case this time!
I reckon it's by no means certain that the books will go depending upon the judge , your defence and the conditions at the time and whether or not you use the car for work etc, plus the lack of other offences.
Out of interest , what did your speedo read - was it the same as the actual speed as measured by the cop car?
As above - get a solicior who specialises in these matters.

My Ex-Girlfriends Dad is a very good solicitor and he has agreed to represent me.

The Speedo read the same as the cop car. got to 115 and chickened out/caught myself on.

i feel like such a tit, i'd only had the car about 6hrs. i'll keep you all posted, and may be hitching lifts off some of you on the near future.

it was on a meter in the cop car. plain as day, 114.8mph(ave) in a .48 mile space.

it was 8pm on sat coming out of belfast, it wasn't dry but slightly damp.

i'll just have to sweat it out till i get to court. nick is a very good solicitor. What's more, this is my one freebie.

only joking adam, it would be harsh to take away your license but i'd expect a fair few points and a decent fine.

they are usually very strict on speeding and lack of insurance. these are things that they will usually give out mandatory penaltys for. i would imagine it will be at least 6 points and a hefty fine. just be ready as you can be . also comes down to the judge and how they feel about it too. i got a judge that was nice enough but after getting pished off with a couple of solicitors before mine that hadnt prepared he got rather angry and started to dish out some harsh fines and points!

not to make you feel worse but just letting you know my own experience!

as said a good solicitor which you have already and just see what happens i suppose!

my dad got 4points and £300 fine for doing 100mph on the m2 in his merc :confounded: no ban tho

just say u were silly and make out that u did a terrible thing and look sorry for ur self and the judge might take self pity :p

might need to prove u need the license to get to work to avoid a ban, anything over a 100mph is supposed to be an instant ban these days!

How can you not notice an unmarked police car, i generally dont overtake vauxhalls etc without having a good gawk at the motor first
