Few more wee good value lockdown jobs completed

The door to window seals were appalling looking and new ones are £300 for an Elise which you need to cut down on top. So a forum member recommended some generic ones from carbuilder.com. £7 for a metre length. Need cutting to size but at least the cost of failure is low.

Old ones looking very scabby from water ingress which rusts the inner metal strip

Getting the end profile right with a scrap piece (it needs to clear the window runner on the inside)

And final product. Not bad for £7. Stuck down with double sided tape

Next up was to replace this crappy bonnet release cable. Its breaks loose, is super awkward to get to and is generally just sh!t.

A land rover bonnet pull was under a tenner and can be located on the drivers door hinge and run straight to the mechanism

And lastly replaced the nylon bush on the gear selector arm. This has pretty much eliminated side/side play in the gearstick. Works well with the extended shifter which of course accentuates any play. Access from the top isnt great but was doable enough.

Looks great. Is that the car pretty much done then?
How much do you guess you've spent on it to get it to here?

June might be optimistic for large gatherings, July/August I think. But more than happy to be proven wrong! 😁
