What Did You Do To Your Car Today?

Spent a few hours this afternoon refreshing the rear suspension on the Octavia. It was extremely.... 114k miles / 13 years old. It was a bit lower than it should have been and when it's loaded up it was starting to get quite wobbly and bouncy.

Bump stops were shot completely, very little resistance on the dampers with some leaking and springs were just all rust and flaking appart.

Just TLC this weekend. It gets washed regularly enough but had been putting off polishing/waxing it due to the acres of panel. But this stuff from ProCar went on much easier than I expected, absolute biz.

I also fitted coilovers to the family wagon. I think it needs raised a touch at the rear and maybe down a tiny bit at the front.

They scrubbed at standard height lol. There's about 4cm between the bottom of the flap and the ground.

Brought the front down a touch tonight I'm happy with the height now.

Got it back after having a new o2 sensor fitted due to the check engine light coming on, out for a drive tonight & yes, light back on, ragin!

Ran it through the poles for a full interior/exterior detail, not bad for 227k miles.

Had to stick 17s on recently after cracking an alloy.

New top mounts on this evening, I hate using spring compressors. 20 minutes a side had them done.

Front discs and pads
Front lower arms
Front drop links
Inner tie rods
Track rod ends
Front Top mounts
Front tyres (Rainsport 5)

Rear toe control arms
Rear toe adjustment bolts
Rear camber adjustment bolts

Alignment

New Pipercross panel filter replaced under warranty, the old one went saggy at 6 months old and was making an annoying droning sound at low rpm.

I have ordered a clock mechanism, I'm going to clean up and paint the old discs and make into a garage wall clock, I am thinking what to do with the other one

Pretty sure i found a new top mount in dad's from when I lived there for an insignia when I had one.
