Very nice Barry , health to enjoy

I’ve a 2.0 Zetec there myself which I plan to get Ali to turbo at some stage.

It was planned for my white sierra but Ali has me convinced to build another shell for it as the white one is too original to ruin lol

There’s a lad in Coleraine with a turbo kit for a zetec, wasn’t dear either. FB marketplace. Haha he’s a good lad & speaks sense.

Got it home & started into further tidying

New gear knob with correct type 9 pattern lol

Isn’t it great what some boys reproduce these days with 3D printing. Indicator stalk cancelling cam as original was shot.

Fire extinguisher wasn’t up to much

Seat out to be repaired by Mrs BarryPort. Lucky to be married to an upholsterer/seamstress.

Will probably send that to leatherlab+ after she’s ran it through the sewing machine.

Wheels now let it down after the respray. This is the problem with a project you end up chasing perfection.

Probably better off getting a fire stick rather than another extinguisher tbh.

Ok so after the spray job it was sent to TW Specialist Auto Preparation in Ballymoney to try & work magic on the paint.
While it was there Tommy sent the wheels off to Cobra customs NI for refurbishment.
I did a bit of a seat base & bolster repair but its not first class.

Original seat base avec shoe string repair

@BarryPort repair avec x4 ribbon bands & I child’s paddling pool.

With all that cost saving I’m only £3k in the red as to what it’s actually worth!

She's a beauty now. That, to me, isn't far off perfection as far as Sapphires go. Moondust Silver is one of my very favourite Sierra colours, and lattices are the wheel for a Cosworth kit. Easily one of my favourite threads on here because I fully admit I am a geek where these cars are concerned.

The only thing I'd point out is the Sierra badge on the rear looks too far from the vertical shut line and is the earlier pre-1990 font. But really, this is properly banal anorak **** and the car looks mint regardless!

It’s waaaay off & I pointed that out to Tommy as he was fitting badges as a favour. He claimed his positioning was to hide a few marks

And now Facebook has informed me the car's for sale. :joy: Fair play to you for leaving it right for whoever buys it - and by today's pricing it's not expensive, though I've no storage for it and therefore can't put my money where my mouth is.

They’ve actually took a turn & are on a downward trend which I can’t figure out as most Sierra owners would still live at home.

It’s advertised 20% too rich to compensate for the low ballers.

Can’t believe it’s been for sale since September.

Then 3 lads from Dundee flew over last Saturday, they had a night in Belfast & I was to meet them on Sunday night once I got back from skiing.
They have a ferry booked for 11pm and at 9pm I lose all gears at Dunsilly roundabout Antrim.

It’s absolutely freezing so I bounce into a taxi & head for their hotel, explain the situation, but them a few rounds, pay for another nights stay & their flights the next day & the cost of the ferry out of courtesy.

They were decent lads. Arranged for the Sierra to be recovered from Dunsilly while I checked into the Europa, and hit Thompson’s nightclub by myself.

Got the car on a lift

The Scottish lads still want the car & are willing to just have it transported over for all it’l cost.

Last week a digger I had on hire slid into a river when the bank fell away. Turns out I wasn’t insured & the hire company didn’t want to put it through theirs either as they didn’t want it back regardless. Had to buy it off them for £90k, the exact figure in my savings account.

Then had to get a team of men who specialise in digger recovery to slipe it out.. that was £5k so that’s why I was taking bad money for the Sierra to pay them.

To be fair they were unreal, military operation, I spent 5hrs in the water in my diving gear taking out the half shafts & putting chains on to allow it to roll out better.

It looks worse than what it is. No water near the engine (runs fine) just damp electrics which is being addressed tomorrow.

A pretty extreme version of the 'you break it, you bought it' signs you see in tat shops.
Some job getting that out of there but looks to have been not too badly drowned.

Jeez, that is sickening. All this on-top of the sierra cosworth fire, you are having no luck. Hopefully you get this Sierra away, and the digger into a useable state.

Boke, that is **** **** luck.. Get the reflection blurred too if the company name is an issue bud 👍🏻

If I was you (which with your luck, I'm glad I'm not at the minute), I'd get a receipt for the digger, get it well insured, and worry about it again in a couple of months, if you know what I mean 😉

Sierra is class, I'm not even going looking to see what price it is - just incase I CAN afford it!

Jeepers, I'd have assumed if you hire something the item would be insured!

Like a hire car!
