Bought this from Ashgood Porsche in London last February just before the first lockdown. Never got round to doing a members thread until now, @Cooper finally wore me down!

It’s a 2010 Carrera 3.6, with the all important options of manual box, PSE, Sports Seats, Sports Chrono, and rear wiper delete. It has a few other options too, but the above were the most important during my search.

I have done almost 10k miles in it so far, took it on a road trip to Scotland in September and thoroughly enjoyed every mile of that, went up as far as Glencoe and visited the Skyfall scene location.

I’ve had a few Porsches over the years, but this is my first 911 and I absolutely love it, without doubt the best all round car I have ever owned.

It sat like a 4x4 when I got it; so I fired in a set of H&R springs, I’m not totally convinced about them to be honest, it’s a fraction too low for me, so I plan to resolve that at some stage soon.

Had a few stone chips on the front end so I got AG Automotive in Portstewart to paint the bumper, wings and bonnet.

Collection Day:

Aye I’m not remotely jealous :eyes:
That is lovely, and blasting around the Scottish highlands, what better spot to enjoy it !

Love that! The springs have absolutely transformed the looks, so much better sitting that bit lower.

Lovely machine and very fresh looking too.
Too low to be properly functional imo on the roads that we have. Maybe somewhere between std height and where it is now is the sweet spot between form and function.
TBH, I'd love one.

These are such a lovely shaped car, I really do think about selling the impreza quite often and making the jump to Porsche ownership as for what I hear they drive and handle like nothing else. Are reliability and running costs ok? Would hate to make the jump and it be a money pit.

Reliability is good on the Gen2, and it’s remarkably easy to run. Lower tax than the 3.8 so it’s £300-odd , does 30mpg on a run, and my last service at Porsche Belfast was just a shade over £500.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s easier to run than your Subaru! Lol

I agree with the springs, looks too low now.

Envious of the Scotland trip, I bought mine in Scotland but it was a trip over and back on the same day, I did mention to my wife I might just head North after I get the car but was well warned not to 😢
