Yeah, although its pretty original (not sure if sticker kit was an option) the wheels would be better silver or anthracite.

I haven't updated this in wayyyyy too long! lol

Car is still going well, just been enjoying driving it.

Only problem I've had is the common door lock issue on these. Passenger door had deadlocked itself a while ago, didn't bother me too much as I rarely have people in the car, but soon after the boot deadlocked itself too so I've been saving up to get this sorted. Need to replace the driver door lock mechanism and potentially the module aswell which should sort the issue. If not I'll need to check the door wiring loom to see if there are any broken wires and if that isn't the problem then I'll have to carefully removed the passengers door card from inside the car, release the door and then replace that mechanism aswell!

Not fun, nor cheap but it needs done!

I'll keep you all posted :grinning:

Spot on Richie and a new sticker kit from the dealer is something stupid like £1500 if I remember correctly!

Wow! I am terrible at keeping on top of this thread!

Nothing much has happened to be fair though.

Got the door fixed and replaced the boot lock motor aswell but then I got distracted by this...

...bare with me because I am going to go off on a tangent here lol!

'99 MK2 MX5 1.8iS with a diff! ;) Bought it towards the end of last year needing some rust sorted out. She got two arches and the sills done, a new boot lid, de-scaled underneath, chassis legs inspected and repaired where needed and then totally covered in schutz and then painted both sides and the rear end aswell! She is properly clean now and I've since fitted some cheap coilovers and SSR Formula Mesh wheels with Hankook rubber. Great wee car and so much fun to drive! Even took it down to Mondello on Easter Monday for the Auto Heroes event and went for a quick 20 minute blast on the track

Anyyyywaaayyyy, once I had stopped messing about with the Mazda, I cleaned the Skoda, lowered it a wee touch and brought it to Dubshed!

And to my surprise I actually won the Skoda category!

Got a wee trophy and an Auto Finesse gift bag with a load of cleaning stuff in it (£120s worth apparently) so I was well chuffed!

Problem being now though, I was toying with the idea of selling it, but after fixing the wee niggles and cleaning it up again I'm not sure I want to.

The wee Skoda is so much fun and it's practical too and on top of that it wins prizes! Lol, but I know I have to sell up if I want to move out and get my own house so in a few weeks I'll put it up for sale properly. In the mean time I've a couple more wee things I wanna do to it and if anyone is genuinely interested in it gimme a shout, money talks as always :p

Cheers,

Aaron

Wind your neck in. It needs nothing spent on it and the miles you do, you'd be silly to buy a diesel.

Keep it and do a few hours overtime a week to save towards the new house

I'm starting to think that myself Richie! It's a great wee car and as long as I don't move way out into the sticks I should be able to make it work

Only time will tell I guess but everything is for sale at the right price! Lol

Back with a little update.

Finally getting my finger out and giving this some much needed TLC and future proof improvements. Recently replaced the N75 valve and I've got everything in place for doing an engine tidy which includes getting rid of the maze of N249 and N112 valves and the SAI pump.

Also ordered some new hoses as being 12 years old the standard ones have seen better days and are starting to perish so have a silicone cam cover breather pipe ordered and this bad boy...

...an oversized turbo intake pipe (TIP)!

Once I've got all the stupid messy, leaky hoses, valves, and secondary air injection pump removed and this TIP fitted I'm going to get it remapped again just to make sure everything is running sweet. Probably better replacing the fuel pump as well before hand as she's just ticked over 120k miles.

I'll report back soon hopefully :grinning:
