Load of ones had them in my dad’s place I would personally avoid, barely any electric only range (something like 25 when new and that’s impossible to get) which leaves you with a heavy, weak & thirsty petrol.

If anything goes wrong on the electric side it can be slow and expensive to fix and I’d assume residuals will be poor.

Better with a gtd estate id say, or I like an i3.

GTD / GTD Estate would be where I'd look based on what you're saying.

Can't imagine you'd get just as badly rinsed on depreciation vs a GTE either. Plenty of people over here looking for them.

I honestly don't know how they work - they're a hybrid? They have like 30 miles of range? How does it charge? Does the engine kick in once the electric range has ran out?
Plug in to charge the battery, get some back too via regen braking or it can use the engine too.

Engine wise four modes.
  • Regular hybrid mode where the car knows best and tries to use EV power as much as possible.
  • Another where it charges the battery off the engine while driving.
  • Another is battery hold one where if doesn't use the battery at all (good for motorway trips)
  • and last one is GTE mode where it uses both battery and engine in maximum attack mode.
