Does it take scraping/banging/chipping well? I might well get the whole underneath done because what I plan to do with this thing isn't exactly going to be easy on the underside :innocent:

prepare to remortgage the house if you wanna do the whole underside

well imagine what we put Wills midget through on a weekly basis - it has held up to all of that.

I would consider welding in skids and deflectors to prevent rock and stone damage though - oh and big feckin mudflaps, like mid-ulster spec yokes

Ah. I guess I could stick it on on the two poster at tech and touch it up every now and then in that case. I'll look into it, cheers Pete :grinning:

Out with the Military NATO green satin and the roller this weekend......

At first application it looks feckin terrible. I was a little worried but the guy at the paint shop told me to expect this so I motored on.

But it soon settles (bonnet painted earlier on the left vs wing just done on the right):

First coat on and still wet, will probably stick another couple on over the hols and hope that it dries to a nice satin finish.

First thing the wife said was she hated it. Result.

lol I hated the purple. I've some of it left so I might do the calipers with it as a nod to the cars past. Must go change the thread title now :p

Interesting, didnt think you'd go for something like that! How come you didnt go for a 'normal' colour?

Few reasons... Firstly because it was green in the log book and all the door shuts, etc were still green and also because it needed to be cheap, easily applied and touched up, etc. I also spotted this one on the 4wd forums and thought it looked good:

I'd toyed with RAF blue but decided to go green for now. I might change the colour next year though. It's only £80 a go

Sounds good my man

Just need the exhaust repaired and MOT'd and I'm ready to rock. Can't really see anything else wrong with it.

Nah no posing though still not entirely sure what I'll do with it. Something motorsporty anyway. We're probably going to do the scallyrally in it next year as well as get her down to Bishopscourt once I get funds and a differential sorted.

I recognise that other NATO green one above, in fact I almost bought it, guy on retro rides was selling it 6 months or so back, but that's an old photo of it.

Wheel choice is key at this stage coog but this has the potential to be special!

Thats the Teenage dirtbag Mx5, cool build thread on it, and on his delica.

My personal favourite wheels for these are silly width Rota Grid V's or M-technica Turbos...

Cool looking with the paint!... Get rid of the softtop and mount a rear gunner instead

I have a nice set of XXR 501s for sale :grinning:

Banded steelies or else I'm trailering it away... :p

PS - Where did you get the paint and how much was it? I've the body sorted on the Tata and want to MOT it over Christmas, but the cab's a bit fusty on it and I don't fancy spraying it.
