Back again.
Spent the last few weeks looking around for something half interesting again and was going to shift on the VRS, had considered an Audi S6, another S4 (Avant this time), and had almost pulled the trigger on an S3. Then started looking at things that were a bit more modern, like an Alfa Romeo Giulia, even diesel A6 Avants. So, naturally I've ended up with something about as far away from those as you can get. Saw this ad on autotrader yesterday morning, I had always admired Caymans and thought they were great value for money, and speaking with @big_pete about his around Christmas is enough to make anyone want one, he has nothing but praise for them. Messaged about this and turns out it was about 15mins away from my house, so went to look at it last night. Honestly as soon as I saw it I knew I was buying it. Looks absolutely class in black, and the interior really sold it for me. Guards red and black leather, and it's like a time capsule. Bolsters all perfect, not a mark on it, and most importantly even the buttons on the dash aren't marked!! Took it out for a spin then and my word it's fun to drive. Pretty much agreed there and then to buy it, and picked it up tonight.
2007 2.7 Cayman
Manual
No idea about the spec, literally just home with it. I know it has the chrono pack and a bose sound system. Full service history, from Porsche and from specialists, with a lot of work done for the last MOT. Feels like it needs nothing at all.
Have driven around 30 miles and initial thoughts on Porsche ownership are:
For the money, it definitely seems like a fantastic wee car! I'm expecting to wake up tomorrow morning with with a sense of self importance and a massive beard.

Have driven around 30 miles and initial thoughts on Porsche ownership are:
- It turns heads. Everyone looks at it. I'd say 5% of those people are thinking "nice", and the other 95% thinking "what a w@nker"
- It's not fast, at all. I'd say the VRS feels faster sometimes. But my god does it handle well, and it actually sounds class. It's going to be a LOT of fun to drive.
- Forgot the fuel filler is on the front wing. That was embarrassing.
- Something's wrong with the heater - even on "LO" it blows air at you around 50degrees C. Quite uncomfortable.
- I CAN'T WAIT to take it round Kirkistown.
- Did I mention everyone calls you a w@nker?
- Could do with being 25/30mm lower.
- I immediately want a 911 GT3
For the money, it definitely seems like a fantastic wee car! I'm expecting to wake up tomorrow morning with with a sense of self importance and a massive beard.
