It is a stunning car in the flesh, noticed it sounded really well this morning.

Cheers, does sound well up the revs. Seems to be all intake noise, don't hear the exhaust much inside the car.

A nice CSL style carbon airbox would be the job, but unlikely to ever happen.

Another day, another oil leak sorted.

Valve cover nut seals. P/N: 11 12 7 830 972

Should have replaced these when the valve cover was off for the Vanos work but never thought at the time. Oil was leaking from a couple on the exhaust side and dripping onto the manifold.

Complete waste of time but gave a coat of wax yesterday too. Next up will be the F10 M5 gear knob. Hopefully Santa/wife has it ordered by now.

Awesome pictures again Ryan. Car looks like an absolute peach there.

Mrs Lyons refuses to buy me car related Christmas presents, even though they are actually what I want. You’ve done well getting the M5 gear knob.

This thread would put a man in a wile notion for an E46 M3!

I was walking out of the coffee shop last week and a Carbon Black one slowly drove past me, it was lowered and spaced like yours, and was absolutely filthy, looked sooooo good. Photographs don't actually do them justice with the wide arches etc.

Your pics @mcmurray remind me so much of my old CSL and brings back some very happy memories, here's one for old times sake. :grinning:

I don't envy anybody in a carbon black one at this time of year. Mine's only clean while sitting on the driveway at the weekends.

Remind us all why you sold that one Graeme. Or the S54 Z3 and Z4. :p

Got the F10 M5 gear knob on the other day. Definitely a nicer feel and gear change compared to the original.

Looked into the Intravee iPod setup for the headunit, but when I was searching discovered the standard nav unit on later cars has an AUX connector on the loom. All I needed was an adaptor. Removal of a few bits of dash trim and the centre air vents gives access to the loom. Ran the cable down into the glovebox. Plug and play, headunit now has an AUX mode. Not as fancy as the Intravee but does me for Spotify on my phone.

Was it much of a hassle sorting the gaiter out on the new gear knob? Wish I'd have bought that one instead of the normal clubsport one that doesn't light up.

Took me about 30 minutes to switch them over.

You have to remove the plastic frames/surrounds on both knobs and stick the new gaitor back onto the original frame.
