Pioneers theory behind this is to protect the high end brand and stop the box moving shaggers selling product they dont understand and cant fit,a bit like the Alpine F#1 product and its dealer base.

Have a go big man i think u will have problems there unless they have some old stock left, but anything from the new PRS range will not be available as of april this year and that includes the 90 rs headunit and processor. ;)
I take it ur dealer is in ards?

Mmmm - give it a go then.

Yer man's not lying. We have signed up to the new PRS Dealership programme which currently gives us exclusivity in Northern Ireland. The criteria to obtain this dealership includes proper showroom and workshop facilities with full knowledge and experience of RTA set up in order to support and maintain the PRS product.

Very similar credentials to Alpine F#1 status dealership.

There reasoning behind this is to stop online 'shagg**s' and guys working from a garden shed getting access to a product they do not understand or have the ability to set up. Therefore if a customer buys from any of the aforementioned sources but then fits it without correct knowledge or facilities their opinion of the product is going to be tainted to say the least. It also means that a specialist dealer is just that - specialist. We dont try and sell polish and air freshners so they should leave the high end product to the experts. Not my words - Pioneers.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread Martyn - but just wanted to clear things up.

Oh aye - as said above we have the new P88 in stock. It's lovely. Very simple lay out but a beautiful looking and sounding wee unit. We are impressed with it.

sounds fair enough nothing worse than having the gear but not having it setup right you might as well not bother.

i had a look into this today. it is true. many of the prs products are only available through about 20 dealers in the uk. it seems like a good idea to me.

A few random facts about Pioneer..

Pioneer developed the first "compact disc" player for cars , ie the head unit , and also developed the first detachable face car stereo.


I have a p77 and I love it.
