Glad you're happy Eddie and you know my thoughts on your car 💛

Appreciate the kind words and you were a pleasure to deal with as a customer also.

A few things I had planned to install and have sorted over the coming months have been done earlier than anticipated due to being accepted to show the car indoor at Dubshed. I’ve missed shows this last couple of years so really looking forward to getting to one and looking forward to presenting the Trophy for the weekend!

Couple of weeks back I had the cars third service competed at Bells Crossgar - really great service.

Immediately after the service I dropped it off to Nu Luk. A delivery driver almost ran me off the road a while back, had to swerve to miss him but in doing so I damaged the NSF wheel. There was also a very small mark on the OSF wheel (can’t remember doing it) so got both wheels sorted. Had a poor experience elsewhere with the Turini wheels on my Cup-S so didn’t want to mess around this time. Superb job carried out and something I hadn’t considered when dropping the wheels off was the RS badge on the wheel. It is lasered on the wheel so Andy had to have stencils made up and colour matched the logo to the other wheels. Great attention to detail.

Then yesterday I installed the Forge Induction Kit and Turbo Inlet Adaptor. Pretty straight forward install and that’s all the hoses you can buy now swapped out for sicilone hoses. Nice mix of induction noise and exhaust note from the Akrapovic.

Took it out a test drive, fantastic day yesterday 🌞

Some people have had a code thrown up with this so something to keep an eye on but if a light comes on the dash it’ll give me an excuse to get to RS Tuning in Leeds to have it mapped.

Next week I have rented a unit off a friend (don’t want to rely on the weather and the gazebo possibly blowing away lol) to carry out a light machine polish, coat the wheels, engine bay detail and apply a wax in preparation for Dubshed.

Last week I made use of Marc (Polished & Waxed) unit in Bangor. Marc has been a great help to me since I went self employed, providing me with training etc and we have worked together on a couple of cars now also. It was great to get to work on the Megane and in total we probably put a good 15/16 hours work into it between us on Thursday.

First up was a quick engine bay clean.

After the wash and decon stages we brought the car inside and removed the wheels. Calipers where coated with KKD Revolve and wheels where coated with KKD Revolve matte.

We then set about getting to work on the paint. From wing mirrors forward the car has PPF applied and there was no polishing needed on these areas. Some bird bomb etching was present but the PPF is Xpel self healing so a little bit of heat removed the etching.

In truth the paint was in fantastic condition and we decided that all that was required was a fine cut with Zvizzer fine cut and yellow pad.

Once the polishing was finished the car was panel wiped and in preparation for the show I decided I wanted to apply Mitchell and King Titan (show car sealant) topped with Prive (concours wax). The PPF areas had KKD SiStal applied which gives much superior water behaviour on PPF than paint and lovely gloss.

Next up for the car is some more PPF to be applied to the butter soft piano black pillar trims and rear wheel arch to guard against stone chips.

Over summer I plan on coating the exterior plastics such as side skirts etc with KKD Revolve and enjoy the car as much as possible!

Looks the dogs nads that 😍 you not think about a garage for it and possibly help with your detailing business?

Know things are expensive in the building trade at the moment but hopefully it will fall a bit soon.

Many Things.
I have to say, this is one of my favourite cars on the site. It just sits perfect and everything you have done has made it better.

Health to enjoy...

Thanks a lot for all the comments guys! Really appreciate it 😃.

@Cossers I would love a garage some day and really should have had the foundations put in for one when we moved into our house 4 years ago (was a new build). I’d have to sell the car to afford to build one now lol.

The work above was brought forward as I was lucky enough to be accepted to display my car indoor at Dubshed. I say lucky enough as the calibre on cars on show indoors was incredible!

The show itself was excellent - so much to see, great range of traders and entertainment from the Monster stages event. I dropped the car off on Saturday morning and headed off to get my son and bring him up for the afternoon.

Well done to the GTINI guys @veedubboy, @natogreen16v & co! So impressed with how a show so big can be ran so well 👏🏻.

My car spent the weekend in the shadow of Tommy from Meguiars stunning Renault 5. Being a lover of all things Renault I couldn’t have picked a better car to be beside. Great to get talking to him about the build - incredible car.

Small update but one I’m very glad to finally have carried out. With the spacers on I was worried about road rash on the rear quarters. Spoke to Complete Car Care Company in Lisburn and had PPF installed to the rear quarter panels and also to the gloss black pillar trims.

Only exterior change to come is having the height of the rear coilovers adjusted. Slightly too low and I’m worried that the tyre will catch and possibly damage the wheel arch. Will give @Blackline a shout and have it raised by a few mm 😃

Will the ppf stop the swirls on the pillars or does the ppf itself incur swirls?
Have gloss black on the wife’s motor and the paint on the pillars is like butter.

The gloss black pillars are butter soft on almost everything. Strangely my Cup-S didn’t have any issues with swirls but the Trophy and the other car at our house (Seat Leon) pillar trims are butter soft.

Just as @MarkM says if you have any problems or etching from the likes of bird bombs some water from the kettle or heat from a fan heater will remove.

XPel PPF won’t swirl, it self heals, accelerated by heat.

The new stuff is fantastic Eddie, I have the front of the Mustang done

Previous owner had full front end PPF installed and it is Xpel, it’s brilliant. Did you have it installed locally?

Definitely a worthwhile purchase/investment. First car I have owned that has had it installed and it’ll be on everything I own in future 😅.
