Well the first issue has reared its head. Seems to be leaking coolant somewhere so it’s off the Mervyn Stewart’s to be fixed. Still loving it to the point I will most likely go for the estate when the lease is up next year.

Only seeing this thread now @Dan.86. Not great about the coolant leak but this is always gleaming, you keep it well!

That’s what Skoda said too. Can be a common enough fault from what I gather.

Cheers, left it to Skoda stinking mind you lol. Heard the Golf going past earlier. Absolute perfection!

Not with the prices I was quoted for one! New model is out end of March, no release date for the vrs yet, think it's a hybrid too from what I've read.

It is yeh with the same BHP too. Mullholland’s have a decent deal on at the min for the current vRS Challenge.

Buggar, it’s off their website now but a friend was in talking to Nick Flinn about one last week and he was getting quotes for under £300 pm with 1 + 35 I think!?

Stewarts were talking £930 upfront and £310 a month for 245 DSG estate. Honestly the way they were talking, they've no interest in leasing.
Must give Nick a ring.

Bang on! Thermostat housing was the issue and now sorted after dropping it in on Saturday and picking up this evening. Happy with that!

Ironically my dads Renault Trafic had a split hose last week caused by vibration and had dumped the coolant seizing the engine.

2 years with this car last month and still enjoying it. Had a minor fault with the battery where it refused to start twice but Mervyn Stewart’s in Bangor took it in, diagnosed it and replaced it under warranty as it was a known manufacturer defect. Can’t fault their customer service!

Treated it to a single stage polish by @Dee yesterday and picked it up this morning absolutely gleaming! Would highly recommend his services to anyone!

Well, I fulfilled my own prophecy and got a combi in the same colour with a few more tasty options than the hatch. I had this in storage for 9 weeks while my other one went back to Skoda so I have only been driving it since mid June.

Got my plate on and ordered a mk iv vrs badge in black to compliment to already black badging. Will get a front one ordered up once i get over the cost of postage from SuperSkoda seeing as Skoda don’t do a matching black one for the front.

Gave it a good clean today ahead of our trip to England tomorrow

Took a trip across to England for a wedding and a few days in the Cotswold. Over 1000 miles and 31 degrees heat and the vRS did everything superbly….Except for when my can of beer exploded in the boot.

Sorry for bumping up an old post. I have the vRS245 as well. Picked it up 4 months back.

I got a message on the dash regarding coolant levels and to check owners manual.

Booked in with Abraham next week but had a friend who works for VW look at it before it goes in and has stated it’s the thermostat housing leaking. (Showed me where)

I spoke with Skoda who stated this was not a common fault and won’t do anything for me as it’s literally 3months out of manufacture warranty.

Is this a small job to fix? Sorry I come across as cluesless im not mechanically educated tbf lol.

Happened to my previous hatchback but it was still within warranty period. Seems common enough given who else commented with the same thing. May be worth pushing them a bit more?

pretty common fault on s3, gti , golf r, tt. VW look around £700 to fix, I’m not sure they have a fix for it, other than replace and hope it doesn't happen again. The housing has seen some revisions, but last time i checked (last year) it could still surface again.

I used to get a loaner but I had them write it into my contract. I only asked for one if the car needed to be kept overnights but they always offered one in case I wanted to go shopping while the car was in for maintenance. Never took them up on their offers. If you buy from a dealer that...
