Good work, but don't leave the map sensor there unless you like things to break!

They have to be mounted upside down or the diaphram will be damaged and will mess up your fuelling big style.

cheers mate, i broke the bracket for the map sensor when i was taking everything apart so it's bolted temporarily so I don't loose it in the mass of bits sitting about

Lol I know your pain. Its mental how many bolts you end up with when an engine is stripped :p

half the weight of the car is bloody bolts, and i think the guy who put my car together set himself a challenge to try and make every bolt different. I don't think i've come across 1 bolt that looks the same. I must be really anal but i just bought a ton of bolts to make sure most of them look the same

I was up with a fella during the week who has just bought a mk2 cossie and it is running rough and I did notice his map sensor was sitting vertical so maybe that's the first thing he needs to sort out and see if it makes a difference.

Mine was the same, buying bolts from Ford gets expensive quickly lol

The very first 3 doors had them verticle and were recalled to get changed. I think its fuel that damages them, if they aren't upside down any fuel that gets into them can't drain out and ruins the diaphram. If his is running really rich and is lumpy and smokey at idle the map sensor is a good place to start looking!

You going to show the car once its together again?

His is running seriously rich and lumpy so i'll let him know (y)

Yeah it should be out at a few shows but it'll be driven too. It's too tempting not to take it out when the weathers good.

God I have a serious hard on for this car. Wish I had 1. the money to buy it, 2. a place to store it....

Credit to you

Update from the weekend.

It was one of those weekends that everything fought with me, topping off with breaking a stud on the exhaust manifold where the turbo bolts. Only solution was to drill it out which means sending it to get welded and re-drilled - yet another delay and cost I don't need

The car is to go and get a few strengthening bits welded on this weekend and there is a tear in the boot floor from the amount of power going through the axle, not good but will get sorted.

Few more pics

Will she be at Neal Egan run? Mine will definitely be back up and running for that!

cheers guys. Should be some big updates next week. I'm off work all week so hopefully get the majority of it sorted out. Got a few bits of welding done last weekend to strengthen the shell, just a few cable holes to weld up in the bay and it'll be going to paint.

You do of course realise that you're completley BUCK WAH! haha Proper job man.

350bhp in a mk2 earns extra man points.
