One of the threads I get excited about when I see an update. Just amazing but finish and attention to detail

Work on the passenger side quarter. The panels fitment was pretty far off as you can see. The swage line was very far off and needed to be removed and added in the correct place.

The old bumpers were a bit tired looking, The new ones are made from stainless so I shouldn't have this problem.

Lots of work on the English Wheel for these panels.

The quarter panels were removed and bent round to meet up with the rear panel.

Both sides were alerted to let the panels fit equally from the bumper:

Rear Lower Panel

Having trouble sorting the rear panel, there seems to be nothing available for the 260Z and the one from the 240Z won't work, looks like it may need made from scratch, which will take some time, and therefore cost.

What's the hour count now Ian? +o(

Cracking work - the finish they get on the raw parts is something else!

Metal working is just pure magic, I have no idea how they do it. So much by eye and feel with English wheels and all that, yet perfect results. Just magic.

Can't wait to see this done ... the ever climbing hours would keep me awake at night but fair play to you for pushing through with it, to have it done right.

I have to say the pics in bare metal are class. Just so you can see the pure craftsmanship in each piece and not thrown together and plastered in isopon

925 hours to where it currently is, which is further than the last set of photos.

A lot of time, lots of small alterations, re fit, adjust, re fit, adjust, definitely not an easy skill and a lot of patience needed.

Its at the point now where its too late to worry about it.

Yes, love the lack of filler, hoping all that will needed is the skim coat, any larger areas will be lead loaded, so no shrinking or cracking in the future.

Can we please have this man on the podcast and also a cars and coffee celebration when this car is finished and we can all just appreciate it??
That could be an interesting chat.

RMS Classics car show for anything pre-1999

Or RMS Jap Fest :innocent:
That sounds like a great idea.

From what I've seen so far, the attention to detail and craftsmanship on this build it leaves me knowing once this build is finished, it will no doubt be one of the finest 260Z on this planet!!
I've obsessed over every detail, and with Dave's craftsmanship, its going to be as good as I can achieve. Still a lot of work left for me to complete, Hoping for on the road for early summer 2023.

@EF Ian What colour are you thinking ? Sorry I’d been covered already.
