Or silver 🙁

To be honest it was Silver I wanted, it's such a clean colour and easy to keep. This green will likely be a bollocks for stratches and marks :relieved:

Great to see something like this being returned to its former glory. So many of these are just run into the ground, which is a shame as they’re probably one of the nicest things on the road to drive.

Cheers. Took a lot more work than I thought it would, but well worth it when I have it finished.

That really does look fantastic now. Well done. I've a lot of want for exactly your car! Green and cream is superb.

Thanks
That is just lovely.

Secretly would love a big motor as a daily like this but have the pure fear of them lol

Thanks.

They are a X5 with a Skirt on, that's it really. Everything is stamped BMW and with the exceptions of the box, everything mechanical seems to be the same. I know a guy scrapping one and I bought the 4 Airbags & Compressor for £200 to have just in case and 3 of the bags are pretty fresh and the rear shocks which are only available from Monroe were £80 for the pair, so the parts are that expensive.

Get one bought, they are great value for what you get...

How does it actually drive? Fuel consumption? Daily living with?

I've never owned a 4x4 type vehicle before, but keen to give it a go.

It's your living room sofa on wheels, simple really. It's 16yrs old, weighs 2.8 Tonnes and you just float about in it (y)

At the minute it's doing about 24mpg and I only have it on the road from last Saturday, but so far I have to say that I couldn't be happier with it. It really is something you just slot into drive and steer.

That’s fantastic!

Thanks Ross

Had MOT yesterday at 2:30pm. Pulled in and there was a trainee and a Scottish guy who was obviously an instructor and they went to work... I have never witnessed any vehicle go through what it went through yesterday! I presume the instructor was just going by the absolute book and they even measured the thread depths on the tyres.

Thankfully it flew through.

Well it fell out with me...

Jeep away to get the Gearbox Refurbished! It started getting lazy going into Drive after start-up, but after a few conversations with specialists one of the clutches has went and the best thing to do is just get it fixed. They are doing it all, removal, repair and re-fitting and giving a 12mth warranty with it. Not an expense I needed right now, but I'm not bothered about it and it will give me peace of mind.

Would you have the details for leather fix solutions? A quick google didn't throw anything up and they look like the people to contact based on what they've done for yourself

It's back...

I had made contact with a few gearbox repairers in Ireland and all of them recommended Autotranz in Dublin. So after a few calls to Sean who couldn't have been more helpful and was more or less able to diagnose the problem over the phone, I decided to leave it with them on the 27th Nov. On Monday I got a call from Sean to say that he had saw what was happening and that he was starting it that morning and would update me when he got the box stripped and that he did. Wednesday evening he rang to say it was rebuilt and was driving well but that he wanted to keep it another few days to make sure all was well.

I rang on Friday Morning and he had been for a good drive on the M50 and got it up to speed and it was changing perfectly, down changes where fine and the tiptronic was also working as it should and I could come and collect anytime. So I landed at 2pm on Friday and I was ****ting myself that the inside might be marked and I have literally never seen as much plastic in my life. They covered everything, seats, door card, armrest and had put paper mats on the floor to ensure nothing got marked. I was a happy man! They insist on doing all the work purely because they want to be able to give a 12th warranty which is great piece of mind...

So I settled the bill, jumped in and the Mrs and I went to Fota Island in Cork for the weekend. It ran faultlessly, the changes are as smooth as they can be and I couldn't be happier. So if anyone needs a Rangie Box Reconditioned, I honestly can't recommend Autotranz in Dublin highly enough. Sean was a complete gentleman to deal with and in comparison to the crazy prices I was being quoted in the UK, they are very reasonable to pay aswell (y)

Damn I love this thing...

As much as I liked the 20" Supercharged Wheels, I have always wanted 22" for it. So I went and put a few new style Rangie wheels against the jeep one Saturday Morning and none of them looked right. So I decided a 'period' set was needed and I went for a set of Kahn Cosworths with Hankook S1 EVO's.

I personally think they transform the look of it and I couldn't he happier. It might not be to everyones taste, but I think the Green makes it that little bit different.

Prefer the previous ones personally, but they still look well.

I think its the combination of the green and the fact that its mint, but I absolutely love this. More than I should!

I prefer the style of the old ones aswell Lyons, but they just didn't fill the arch and it looked hideous at the back in comparison to how these look.

Thanks.
