Nightmare - Glad you got out safe anyway @BarryPort
That’s now fallen through unfortunately. Still advertised at £8k but will accept less through genuine enquiries
I'd want it delivered for 6k£6k da morra!
Fair play, also I’d say there are more than a few canny bais on here with six figures or more tucked away in the isa or other investments.Ps who has 90k in their savings
That’s nothing @Ruairi83
Last week a digger I had on hire slid into a river when the bank fell away. Turns out I wasn’t insured & the hire company didn’t want to put it through theirs either as they didn’t want it back regardless. Had to buy it off them for £90k, the exact figure in my savings account.

Then had to get a team of men who specialise in digger recovery to slipe it out.. that was £5k so that’s why I was taking bad money for the Sierra to pay them.

To be fair they were unreal, military operation, I spent 5hrs in the water in my diving gear taking out the half shafts & putting chains on to allow it to roll out better.
It looks worse than what it is. No water near the engine (runs fine) just damp electrics which is being addressed tomorrow.
Boy I work with was showing me that video last week, trying to figure out whose it was, where it was and who was doing the recovery. It was all over WhatsApp and Snapchat ffs. That’s nothing @Ruairi83

I worked in the moss producing raw peat for factory then put into grow bags etc many a tractor and harvester bogged in moss even with triple wheels on back of tractor and doubles on front, had Hitachi 120 bogged unreal the vacuum/suction pulling digger in further the more you worked to get out,was a great job and wish had pics of said machinery bogged. That is a crazy story, glad everyone was OK in the end.
5k isn't too bad for a recovery like this, going off prices I've heard for excavator recovery from bogs, imagine the price without your involvement in the water.
@BarryPort, fair play for taking both sh1tshows on the chin and getting on with it. You must have been thinking "Why me?"

Least you’ve her rightly sorted now.
Fair play Barry, there’s many would blow those buyers out or recover that digger and say nothing to the hire company and hope for the best.
It was the diver fella off RMS
Hey Craig, as @Nicky says, the hire company had pics & vids sent to them all weekend so they knew who it was & where before Monday morning’s call to @BarryPort in Dublin airport.
Finished the job today, decided it was best to chain another to the piling rig as an anchor this time lol

Can’t argue with your car selling ethics, Barry. Commendations for being a man of your word, and making sure a motor is right before you let it go…Another one away. Buy high, sell low.
Scottish fellas came back once they had funds sorted again. Thanks to the RMS member who stepped in to match their offer last min, but I felt morally bound to send the car across the water.

Hopefully the RMS member understands your reasons, but you certainly can’t be faulted for allowing the first buyer their chance to own the car, given the circumstances which seen them without the car in the first place.
