Yeah mine are thinner as well.

Cant see the thinner version of the helper being much help can they?

here is a pic of said eibachs. the helper spring is reasonably beefy.

I think that type of secondary spring does actually have a purpose when it comes to the ride of the car. I've seen a setup like yours on newer rally cars. (PS Those eibachs look like a very nice bit of kit!)

The helper springs that just hold the spring up are flat sectioned and pretty thin and low poundage, just like the springs in your second picture.

yeah I had them on my white M3. Man that car could handle. uprated mounts, coilovers, arbs the lot was done. pity i couldnt drive it lol.
