The mrs worked in donnellys and can honestly tell you that all new rangies regardless of what model are complete troublesome pieces of poo.

They are just **** and even there head tech warned me against buying a l405, regardless of what engine was in it. The electrics and build quality as a whole is just awful. I'll stick with the my TD6 for another while yet...

I love the Disco Sports but the reliability issues would put me right off.
Did someone on here not say their brand new Evoque courtesy car even had an EML on? Says it all!

Great news
The woman that manages Coleraine McDonald's got an Evoque and it was always in getting warranty work done.

I'm trying desperately to talk myself out of upgrading to an l405 but there is nothing else I want. Once you've had a full fat range rover no other jeep compares :worried:

They are absolutely lovely but I don't think I could be bothered with the hassle.

Giving some serious thought on a new full fat Rangie. Have the reliability issues been resolved as yet? I had a 2017 tdv8 Sport and it broke my heart!!

I hope you are joking,........... one of our customers husbands works for Donnolly`s and every day/week owners/solicitors are on with problems. Nightmare.

A lot of slightly one sided views on here - those who work for retailers etc will clearly see the vehicles that have issues

If you buy a new L405 today it is better than previous iterations - I know because I have the data

The last of the L322s were pretty good. Hopefully the L405 was the same but I still wouldn’t go near one with a barge pole.

I certainly don’t work for a dealer and my in-laws have always had ranger rovers including a new one. Donnelly’s bent over backwards to the first fault then it all changed. I have asked Charles Hurst to supply a full breakdown of every issue they have dealt with and when I receive it I am more than happy to share. This will exclude work Donnelly’s done or it might be the same system.

the fact the guy from the AA who came out said 80% of his time was spent fixing discovery sports daily said a lot.

We’ve had 4 x Freelander 2’s, 2 x Evoques, 1x Discovery Sport and 2 x Discovery 4’s and no dogs amongst them.
Had a 2.7 L322 RRS briefly but wouldn’t have confidence in it.

Bumped into an guy I used to work with recently and he told me he'd bought a Land Rover for the family car to replace the Nissan Qashqui he had previously. Apparently the Land Rover had been back 4 times in under a year for warranty work..... His Nissan was never back for warranty work in the 4 years he had it. Not that I'd ever buy one but that sort unreliability would put me right off.

My brother actually has a mate who works for JLR, he drives an Audi.

a short answer ball of *****, wife’s first one was rejected due to having a gearbox failure, new dash and multiple trips to Donnelly’s (thought I would have got to the Christmas do)

2nd one - information unit issues, boot leaked 3 times, ad blue pump failed and currently lying in Hursts this past 7 weeks with a nox sensor and some other issue that I can’t remember but will check. Got the warranty well used.

they are a great vehicle if you would like to
1)drive every courtesy car available or in this case a brand new Velar
2)make more trips to the dealer than the loo if you have the squirts
3)want to be on first name terms with customer service.
Hateful to fuel as it does 370ish to £62 diesel. Servicing costs aren’t bad through a specialist. Did I mention I am selling ours soon, will be like a new vehicle with all the new parts.

Should have read my own post. It was the DPF filter that went on it. It’s in now for a nox sensor and ad blue pump.

Thought this was a good review. I’d love a TDV8 whenever I can insure them
Surprised harry bought an old 80k example! Thought he’d be rolling around in a brand new one

The reason would be there is a lot less to go wrong and by the end of any production run, they normally seem to have most of the issues sorted.

Looking at Harry's video made me want a Green one (y)

What about the older Discovery with 7 seats? Any horror stories with them or is it mainly the Sport?
