124k on my xc60 now (70k+ in my ownership) and still going great and apart from regular servicing hasn't needed much in that time, doesn't excel at anything but does everything good, pre face-lift 5cyl models bang right in that budget too @Todd

Thanks for the info!

My Passat is like that, does everything I need it too. It’s a great car but I want something a bit more appealing on the eye, inside and out.

I like the new shape Volvos but they’re a bit out of the price range!

Thanks for the suggestion Nick but if I was going for a Skoda it would need to be an Octavia VRS.

I’ve been keeping an eye on these to but I think I’d regret not buying an M Sport.

Used cars seem to be few and far between at the minute!

I’ve been scrolling through the classifieds, several times a day but nothing stands out.

A lot of stuff has increased in price by a huge amount atm!

Anyone have 2013 - 2015 Audi A6 Avant that they’d part with?

Must be an S Line and diesel. Auto preferably & heated seats.

Have you seen the black one that Hawkeye Ballymoney have on their Insta for sale. No idea of miles or age but I’m sure Richard can give all the details.

I did, thanks for the heads up.

Forgot to write in the post any colour but black. I love black cars when they’re clean but thr last two I had were nightmare to keep. I said after the first one I’d never own a second but stupidly bought one. Plus, it annoys me that the plastics & tyres always look a bit grey!

I need something easily maintained for a mile muncher!

Resurrecting this old thread. I'm in need of a car now as my Passat finally gave up after many years of trouble free motoring!

@Mickylad and i have been scrolling through the classifieds constantly for the last few days with not much joy.

  • £5k but could stretch a little more for the 'right' car.
  • Preferably estates, but i know they're few and far between.
  • Any colour apart from black.
  • Diesel.
  • BMW E91, A4, A6, Octavia, Tiguan, 3 Series, 5 Series. That sort of thing...

@MarkM 's freelander as a stop gap? At least you know its had a load of work done to it and shouldn't lose much.

Not by any means sporty but a good S60/V70 is a fantastic cheap daily.

It's a great example but a Freelander isn't my sort of thing. Someone will get a great car there!

I like some of the Volvo jeeps but they're all waayyy over my budget! :weary_face:
