Always wanted to do this but was scared incase I ballsed something up.
Changing the crappy ugly side button DSG shifter knob to the newer look front buttoned DSG knob.

To enable the fitting of a front button DSG knob, the plastic under the knob needs to be rotated 90°.
So a heat gun and some patience later and it works!

Subframe cleandown on the JCW Mini going well.

Opted against the powder coating option, went for Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 and will be coated with Dynax UB.

Very pleased with the results so far. AutoDoc order arrived today as well with full set of Lemforder bearings, bushings and ball joints.

Before after wire wheel clean and degrease

That looks great! What was it like before you started? I fear my MX5 subframes are beyond help lol

How it’s looking now.. rebuild starting tomorrow. Had an oil leak from the oil filter housing which had oil all down the back of the engine and onto the sump. Degreased and steam cleaned today.

Had you that RS3 recently, it pulled into a BP in Ards the other day when I was getting fuel and first thing I thought was I recognise that car, must of been from your Insta feed.

Are his wheels satin finish and all one colour?

cleaned it last weekend and he lives Bangor direction so probably was. The wheels are all silver kind of like satin as you say

Next job now is suprecharger service, coolant flush, replace few o rings, clean up a messy oil leak and finish up with an oil change.
Should be well sorted for MOT next month..

Put the Z4 back together after the EPAS failed, the motor module came back no fault found so hopefully I had a dodgy connection on the loom somewhere. Everything cleaned and reseated so hopefully it will be good. The motor module can be adjusted to dial out the over sensitive steering so I'll tweak that over the weekend before I put the trim back together.
