Started to gather up afew parts to go with my plans for Project GTD
So a deal was done for a set of Genuine GTI Xenon headlights plus a set of BBS RX 15" that were badly in need of a refurb. Was able to source a GTI leather steering wheel and GTI gearknob to brighten up the interior aswell.

Inbetween stripping parts and sourcing bits online i finally found a GTI diecast that i had been after for a while so had to buy it
Its a 1/18th scale made by OTTO of the 6n2 GTI and was a limited to 2000 models.
Detail is veey good so here is afew photos.

No boss i sold the the estate about a year ago, it went about 2hours after advertising it

When i owned it the first time i had it on G60 Steels.
But yes that was me the other day in the garage i will get afew photos up of it in its current form with the 15" GTI bbs rims fitted.

Nice one, thinking of something estate and vag diesel for work, some of the lanes and tracks I’m up are ridiculous and the civic is a bit too harsh and low sitting.....need a bit of vw comfort lol.

Could you give me some idea of the cost of the centre caps and were you bought them from?

I have been getting quoted silly prices - £25 each!

Got stuck into getting the BBS split for the refurb, not much hassle only one rounded bolt but got a new one ordered. They werent in great shape so set about polishing the lips and bolts while the centres were away getting painted.

So after many hours spent sanding and polishing i was happy enough with the results and the centres came back the perfect shade i wanted.

New tyres were ordered so next up get them fitted and new centre caps in!

The car had been sitting for over a year so i wanted to freshen up the brakes to go along with the newly refurbed wheels.

I wanted to upgrade the front discs to the G60 setup of 288mm discs inside of 256mm that ive done before to my previous GTI's so new carriers were bought along with new G60 discs/pads.
I just went with new standard discs/pads on the rear which does rightly for daily duties.

Using the car as my daily work car and it only ever being me in it i decided instead of buying a caddy van again that i would just make a van out of the Polo
So first up was stripping the rear seats out.

Then next up was to get a friend who does woodwork to design/cut/fit a floor to the car.

More to follow..
Once he was happy with the fit etc it was time for another little purchase so bought a couple of rolls of carpet to cover the floor.

Got the carpet fitted/glued into place and very happy with results.
Have to say its really practical even if it is only a polo

Floor still lifts out to gain access to the spare wheel/jack..
