Well she turned the big 3-0 last Wednesday 19th June being first registered 19/06/1989. Going to treat it to a top end rebuild & paint the bumpers.

In the mean time it got period plates courtesy of @Neil@rockvale - always wanted a set so thanks boss.

This is a sensitive one for me as it was my hero car for as long as I can remember.

This example came up at a bad time but it had to fulfil this fantasy one way or another.

1989 2WD Sapphire Cosworth
Nice early poverty spec in my favourite combo, diamond white with light grey cloth.

It's running stage 1 approx 280bhp. Nice & simple. That's as far as it goes apart from a stainless exhaust & Koni suspension and of course a 4x4 bonnet.

130k, 3 owners, HPI clear.

I'l get better pics up as I do silly wee touches like period amber rear lenses, cloth arm rest, cam belt & clutch.

I hope you enjoy the look of it half as much as I do.

Congratulations again guys, thanks for having us ☺

Prefect wedding transport right there! All three of you couldn't of been more helpful. We got a serious amount of comments about the cars and how clean they were. So much cooler than a white range rover, etc.

Thanks again!

Slow underside resto over the winter. The jacking points get a hard life being an old Ford 😜 and I noticed this one had a slightly distorted driver’s footwell when I test drove it back in 2017.
Ex-pressed do a top quality replacement.
Will likely do sills while we’re there.

Been after a set of old skool 17” Compomotives or Speedlines or something cool from that era then I spotted these on FB marketplace! Only problem is I wouldn’t be the seller’s biggest fan & vice versa so @John_MK5 buys them on my behalf, cheers boss.
Compomotive MO5’s needing TLC

That’s all the parts gathering I want to do this side of January 31st’s tax bill.

You should get the turbo off and get the turbine housing ceramic coated and a lick of paint on the compressor housing and actuator too. Would smarten that engine bay up a brave bit... 👌

That it would Nicky, bay could be with a bit of time spent on it alright.
That wee car is like the Forth Road bridge, never ending jobs.

****ing hell, is there much damage? Do you have an idea what was the cause?

I'm guessing you missed your MoT slot? 😬

In all seriousness though, it could have been burnt to the ground.

Should be salvageable but we’l leave it up to the assessors.
Cancelling the slot was on my mind as I remember Volvo Nut or whatever you call him on here saying it allows them to stick on the kettle sooner lol.
Yeah totally of it happened in my garage I would have been f*cked.
Just thinking out loud you probably recognise the landscape - your people are from up there.
