Love this and the upgrades you’ve made! What are these like as a track/sprint toy? Thinking of getting something next year and one of these are a real contender

I've tracked mine a bit and thought it was great, you can make decent power on a budget too.
Haven't done a sprint or hillclimb yet but hoping to this year.
@PhilM had good success with his last year ago and won his class

Must have been a few imported at the same time as there's a few I know of with very similar reg's

Fitted the new turbo kit yesterday, good clearance with the mani but turbo is very close to oil filter and rad, so probably struggle to be able to run an air filter.

Also with the 9" fan on the front the rad can't be fitted it removed so need a solution to make it easily removable.

Also will need a new oil line made up to fit

Probably go up today and start getting a few other bits fitted, got insurance sorted for the new year so time to get the finger out

Got a bit more done the past week or 2

New spark plugs fitted
Got an oil feed made up and fitted it
Thermostat and rad hoses fitted
Intercooler pipework fitted
Catch can refitted
Strut brace refitted
Wiring loom accross the rad support secured
Front bumper back on
Timing strut made and fitted

Set the bonnet on to motivate me to sand it down some more

Few earths and wires to tidy up
Then it's ready to start up.
Then just a case of sort the bonnet and wheels hopefully

All back together and out of the shed for the first time since September

The light was terrible when I took these pics so apologies. I’ve tried to brighten them a bit

Yeh he did a brilliant job with it, considering the damage it had etc. More than happy with how it turned out.

New air filter, courtesy of an Asda sieve lol

Had the car on the road for a few days and all seemed ok, got the wheel alignment set up.
Then started to notice a slight coolant leak, which turned into a slightly bigger coolant leak

Radiator is now out and left in to either be repaired or re cored, won’t know until he’s had a proper look at it.

Car was going well, handled nicely on the alignment settings I went for and the lsd makes a massive difference!

Did my first sprint at kirkistown last sat, was a washout with the track partially flooded in the morn. But was cleared and the track dried up wel towards the end.

Car did well tho and didn’t have any issues and was able to drive it home again thankfully. Few close ones in the wet just!

Only back from Kirkistown from a private day... something more competitive may be worth while...

Only video I have, from my last and best timed run that day. Was the only run where the track was pretty much dry

Cheers! Wasn’t perfect by any means, and conditions were different every run with the weather so hard to be consistent. Nutts Corner this sat, looking forward to it

Nutts Corner sprint yesterday, first time driving Nutts Corner so took a bit of getting used to, car went well, was good fun and the car survives for another day so I’ll count it a success

I didnt really see you about the car anytime I passed or I would have stopped for a chat. I'll be at the next few rounds anyway so if I see you about I'll come over. Some machinery at the graigantlet round, how did you get on, are you in the road going class
