Over due update..

Most majorly, new wheels and tyres, went from 6.5j to 7j and a 195 tyre to 205.

Comparison of the 2 sets of wheels

Painted the center caps and ordered some trd gel stickers to tidy them up

New disks and billet carriers for the wilwoods thanks to @PhilM (typemr.com)

Had to roll the rear arches with the new wheels

New springs for the coilovers, went for higher spring rates all round, stripped cleaned and regreased while I was at it.

Water pump had developed a leak so replaced it

Wrapped harnesses around cage rather than rear seatbelt mounts, much tidier

Manifold cracked so had to get it welded up, so far so good, fingers crossed

New battery, weighs less than 1kg so great weight saving there

And lastly, yet another new sensor for the wideband, this thing just munches them lol

Porsche club Ireland track day yesterday at kirkistown, starlet was a bit out of place but she held her own and gave them a run for their money

First time on track since changing springs/tyres/alignment etc and have to say car was on rails!

Lap timing app didn’t seem to be accurate or consistent so had to work it out from the video but seemed to be 1:09 and sometimes even dipping into the 1:08s which I’m more than happy with!

Seen you at Kirkistown last weekend there and was going to come over and say hello but had to leave early so shot across the track as soon as they opened the gates.

Car looks class, sounds and goes great as well from what I saw!

I was only down in the old 996,didnt get out as they were full when I asked but then on the day 10 never turned up. I'd no helmet plus hadn't done the brakes so never bothered, shame.

Some moneys worth out there, the Speedster was unreal sounding. You were giving a lot of them a good run for their money lol

I was expecting a lot more to be there tbh, but worked out well as could always get straight out when you wanted.

Yeh the speedster wasn’t holding back at all! Fair play to him given the value of it!

As per the other thread, Mondello Park trackday yesterday with a few other rms’ers

Brilliant fun, weather was perfect and most of the time track wasn’t too busy either.
Took a good few laps to figure out the track but was great once I got the hang of it.

New cc stage 4 clutch

Fidanza lightweight flywheel with new friction plate and new oem bolts

New 2nd gear synchro

New drive shaft oil seals

Door hinge repaired

New Cusco panhard bar

New Cusco rear strut brace

New snap off steering wheel adaptor

Fresh nangkang ar1’s

Chassis mounted front splitter

Carbon fibre fuel flap, saved 140g

Seemed a bit down on power, changed the plugs, old ones seemed fine but were slightly loose, also got the ignition timing checked and it was a fair bit out. Feels quicker now but need to test it out in the dry to get a better idea.

Couple of changes done, can’t remember them all so I’ll keep it to the main things

Rusty mild steel turbo kit got cerakote treatment, and so far seems to have taken the heat no problems

Rear axle modified for rear camber and approx 50mm wider track

BYC wing fitted

New wheels

Car ran great, the rear camber and wing seemed to really make a difference, lots of rear grip now. Managed a new pb of a 2:02 which I was more than happy with, the target had been to get into the 2:03s.

I've never been on a track in my life (do gokarts count?) but if I ever got on one, your Glanza is what I would want to do it in. Looks brilliant fun!

I have to admit it’s great fun, no power steering and aggressive diff gives the arms a workout tho you should def do a trackday sometime, tho it’s an addictive rabbit hole to go gown

Few small updates

Picked up another set of wheels, SSR type M wrapped in Dunlop dz03g tyres

Made up some brake cooling ducts, hopefully extend life of the pad/disks

Skimmed disks and new pbs pads fitted

Rear coilovers raised 10mm to try and transfer some weight forward

Reconditioned starter fitted

Oil, filter and plugs changed

Rear wing adjusted again

Ready for mondello on the 7th October

got a bit carried away fitting some vents, in theory these will release high pressure air from front of the car and give more downforce. The bonnet vents will also help with temps.

So the last track day didn’t quite go as planned..

Wet in the morning and I don’t really have any ‘wet’ tyres so had to was a few moments.

started to dry up around lunch, so first time out after was fully dry and the car felt great, loads of grip from the dunlops and felt like I was on the pace.

Sadly only lasted about 2 laps and 3rd gear decided to leave the chat
