in all honesty for what they are they are too expensive. Id much rather put the cash into a supra/rx7/skyline etc.

Or pay half that and get a sapphire cossie (y)

Love the escorts to look at, but could never warrent pay 2 or 3times the price of a sapphire for one.

A bog standard Sierra is the ticket so that plus a Cossie engine has to be the dogs... And thats before they put it in an Escort - lovely jubley!!!!!!! Top Wagons one has to say - but then I was always a bit biased towards them...

As I was saying to Lyons on Saturday, I could never justify spending over the odds money that Escort Cossies demand when there are many more (and better in everyway IMO) equivelents out there...Impreza and Evo that spring to mind first. Not to mention the fact that I hate early 90's dashes in Fords!!!!! :p

Because they are in a different league to any subaru etc...you see a bog standard subaru drive through belfast, no1 would notice it, drive a bog standard escort cosworth through the same street, 10times more people would take notice.

In my eyes, the cosworth YB engine is still today the worlds best 4 cylinder production engine. You dont see dermot carnegie using modern jap engines in his 800bhp rallycross monster do you???

I would rather have a newer and faster car than an older one that screams "Look at me!"

Plus if I was that interested in people looking at me I would save the hassle and just get a huge neon sign

Pretty much!!! :p

If I had 15k to spend I would never in a million years even consider an Escort Cosworth, you are talking Evo 7 money then

i agree with kerzo. An escort cossie may get more looks but thats because it isnt made anymore and is a lot less common than a subaru/evo. You could buy an evo and a subaru and still have change left over from the price of an escort cossie and all in all have a far better all round car.
The only reason i would buy an escort cossie over sub/evo is that it'll hold its value better.

Most of this thread is nonsense - Skiman you know bugger all about Cosworths and it is painfully obvious from you posts. I'm not trying to say i know much if anything about them, but i know more than you, which doesn't say much for your knowledge. 100 000 miles for a cossie rebuild? Only if its never driven hard. In fact you have posted so much nonsense here i can't begin to even be arsed pointing out you inaccurracies.

Answer this - If cossies as so amazing why are you selling yours?

Its been proven time and time again that newer cars arent faster!!! They cant possibly be!! They are built to meet strict emmission laws. The production cars of the late eighties - middle 90s are the fastest we will see.
