That's reasonably priced too mate thanks is it a good setup? What other pipes do I need for it?
I’m running 350bhp/350ftlb with it on my k04 setup

you can use your old pipes and cut the ends off
I bought s3 pipes instead or get silicone ones off eBay

You can use the standard ones just cut the quick release end off or buy another pair of standard ones and use them

So little update…..

Bought all the stuff to carry out a walnut blast on the inlet valves on the vRS

Very easy to do removed the inlet and cleaned the valves, was shocked at how bad the carbon buildup was so glad it’s all cleaned up now

Also picked up a set of used BC Racing BR Coilovers to go in but there getting a full Refurb before fitting…..

Have you still got the runner flaps in your intake? I remember having issues with mine on the mk5

The valves look great by the way, I'll have to look into it when I'm putting the golf back on the road!

So after fitting a Balance Shaft delete and doing a inlet wallnut blast I got the vRS on the rolling road once again…. Safe to say I was well shocked when the final results came in

Previous power was 342bhp with 350ftlb
After the inlet clean and vis delete it made…. 365bhp with 366ftlb

Well chuffed with the outcome !!

Well that lasted long…..

about a month or so ago I started to get a slow return clutch pedal intermittently and thought there was trapped air in the slave so bled the slave and all was well for a week until it started to happen again thought the slave or master cylinder was on its way out….. well how wrong was I :pensive:

unknowingly to me it was the thrust washers failing on the crank and one Saturday afternoon they completely failed and I ended up with a dead engine. Got it home and found nice bit of crank walk.

At this stage I wasn’t sure what to do with the car wether to break or drop another engine in… decided to go for another engine but this was the perfect opportunity to upgrade aswell..

I decided to go for a CDL engine out of a 2010 Audi TTS which will be a nice replacement and mean a bit more power too

Just need the engine to arrive now….

Finally after a 3 week wait the CDL has arrived!
New Timing Belt fitted and also walnut blasted since I still had all the stuff from the last time I done it

And one very sorry looking vRS ready for the old engine to be dropped out..

Once it’s all fitted I’ll be getting it mapped again so should see approx 380bhp with 400ftlb so ain’t so bad that the engine had failed….

So about 2 weeks ago I finally let the vRS go to a new home after 3 years of ownership, was sad to see it go but time for something different….

Think I seen it at the junction of Knockmore and Balinderry roads a couple of weeks ago, looked very well!

So… glad to have the vRS back I forgot how quick this thing is after not driving it for 8 months:joy:

Anyway have made a few changes since I’ve got it back….

When I got it back it had a set of 19’ aftermarket wheels on it which lasted about 3 days on it before I found a set of the standard 18’ zeniths to go back on it..

The car then got a full major service new plugs all filters and oils changed and rocker cover gasket as the old one had seen better days

Then a set of BC Coils have made its way on to it as the standard shocks where knackered and I wanted the car a bit lower anyway so kill two birds with one stone

Next I got a new maxton design splitter to replace the old one which was battered to bits

Future plans are to Refurb the zeniths ferric grey with 15mm spacers and order the rest of the maxton lip kit and tidy the paint work up…..
