start again.......years ago i was up getting spares from e.t guy wanted windows for a car. they had windows out sitting infront off office awaiting customer ... so customer arrives eddie tells customer price say 45.00 customer quibbles 40.00 eddie stands on them breaking them . then says you needed them more than me and strolls off hope that clears it up deckz

went up to lift a soft top for a toyota mr2 for a mate of mine - i landed up, expecting the soft top to be ready to take with me, walked in and it was still attached to the car - i said to him, whats the story here - he handed me the sh1ttiest tool box and said 'if you want it, take it aff' i replied are you having a laugh? he replied 'its raining, im sure them seats in the car are getting wet, but sure ya must know of plenty of these kinda roofs about' - i spent the next hour or so removing the soft top, he came out and nattered, actually went form being a bit of a mad man, into a decent guy - didnt knock a penny of it though - asked him for a few pound off, he looked as if i'd asked him to sacrifice his family.

Hes a decent guy, end of the day its his business. If you want something you pay the money, if you dont want to pay it then go elsewhere.

Anytime i got anything off him he has always been dead on. There was always polish guys working for him for very little they would always help take anything off. Place was a death trap in some paces with cars balancing on top of each other.

The guy that owns Covington car dismantlers just outside Lurgan is the same sort of a fella. I bought once or twice from him out of desperation, nowadays I'd rather pay for a new part than go near him.

It's their own businesses and their right to run things the way the like. Just not my kind of thing.

Don't like to disrespect someone I don't know so with that I'll say maybe i'm wrong but.......
In the story with the windows... the guy offers him a bit less so.. he needlessly smashes the windows and walks off.. However, he walked in to see Barryports dad about some radios and done the exact same thing that the chap looking to buy the windows done with him.
Why is this man held in such high regard? Serious question.. no disrespect implied or intended.... Did he put money into the local community through jobs, investment in sports, culture or general interest in community wellbeing or something similar?

Back on topic re the car.... Very nice but for me I prefer an original looking exterior with factory lights splitter and maybe 18" original style reps etc... Prob worth that money in England all day long if it has all the work done that is listed.

The guy is minted, maybe he's got better things to do with his time than haggle over a fiver? Or maybe he doesn't subscribe to the common belief that there MUST be a discount on everything that he has a price on. I think any guy in business has the right to run it the way he chooses, Eddie obviously didn't do too badly by doing it his way!

Everyone knows he does business that way, if you didn't like it then you went elsewhere. Even after all these years we are still talking about his business methods, so no-one can say that people should be surprised when he does things like that!
