Allegedly both Red Pull "partners" (presumably sponsors, maybe Honda?) and other teams are calling for transparency in light of the latest turn of events.

"Not a good look" is the understatement of the century...

I managed to miss hearing why Sainz was replaced for Qualifying, dont think it was even mentioned throughout haha what an opportunity for him but no chance of a Ferrari seat for the next few years. 11th is not bad at all for all the warning he'd got

I believe Bearman had already qualified on pole for the F2 race before he was told he was stepping up to the F1 seat for the weekend. That's how little notice he got.

Since when did they switch races to a Saturday 🤷
Ramadan starts tomorrow, so race was Saturday, and last weekend was Saturday too to allow 7 days between races. Given where the race was it's kinda taken seriously.

It's not the first time it's happended, the British GP used to be on a Saturday, and Vegas last year was too.

Thoughts on yesterday??

Thankfully sky has ff 15/30 speed cause it was used at times.

Some good battles midfield/back of pack but wow max just disappeared as usual. Got the feeing his car was engine saving mode from lap 3 or 4

Right... So does anyone have any more dirt on Horner or something? 😅 Anything even remotely interesting, anything at all, to kill the boredom of that "race" 😅

Glad to see Bearman do well. He had a scrappy race tbh so I'm not as impressed as the media but it shows a few things: how important the car is when a non-F1 driver can jump in a Ferrari (arguably the quickest car over a single lap) first time and do so well & it also shows that half the grid need to go to make way for some young blood. Alonso, Hulk, Dany Ric, K-Mag, Bottas, Sargeant & Stroll to name a few. Ferrari need to milk Hamilton for 2 years then he can go too.

Not much chat in here anymore about the races and rightfully so. Boring race. Bearman got the award for the most overtakes during the race with a total of.....drumroll.......4. Good job FIA.

yes a mix of budget caps, new regulations, track design/layout/location has really dulled the actual racing.

Biggest wallet wins lads, keep it below 1500hp and 1.5 meters wide but apart from that lol fill yer boots

I was saying to the missus when we were watching on Sunday that the cost cap/development time should follow the NFL draft system. The team that finishes last in the overall league gets first pick in the draft so in F1 the team that finishes with the fewest points should be able to spend the full cap and get the full allowable amount of development (or wind tunnel) time. That scales down all the way to first place so that the champions have the least cap and Dev time.

By the time any of the current teams catch up to Redbull it will be time for another set of rules so I can't see anything changing with how things are set up at the moment.

It already works like that. They get less "time" the higher they finish in the manufacturers championship. That's why neither Ferrari nor Merc really wanted to finish ahead of each other last year, even though the drivers were still trying, lol 😇

But it's just not enough to close the gap to Max' Red Bull. They could win with a lap at least if they wanted to. He gets to a pitstop within a handful of laps and then just coasts along there. Whatever it is they have on that car, clearly nobody else in the whole field has it.

Another problem is the cap on windtunnels/aero compute time/etc. It's all self-policed. Nobody has a clue if someone has an extra CFD computer somewhere, or tells their manufacture partners to stick a part in a windtunnel for them, or whatever.
