are you able to cover a multi car option in any way?

currently i have a lightly modified car to drive as a daily driver, but plan to bring summat a bit more performance orientated out on summer for show/occasional use?

Hi Mook,

The scheme that we currently have in Northern Ireland doesn't permit multiple vehicles to be added and is targetted at the high performance/modified risk profiles.

At this stage there is an NCB requirement which requires that 'actual' NCB is used upon the policy with us and there is not a facility for 'introductory or mirrored NCB'

This would mean that your NCB would be best employed upon the higher performance/modified vehicle, with your sourcing cover on a mirrored NCB basis for the everyday or runaround vehicle (which is easier to Insure) with an everyday Insurer locally until we can source a facility to cover this.

Pride and the care taken by people that own performance or modified cars is a factor to us, we are totally geared toward covering performance & modified cars.

Kind regards

Tony

Many thanks for that.

Forums are a really good way of seeing exactly how we're doing and your kind comments are very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Tony

I'm not quite 21 yet but by the time I am hopefully this scheme is doing well and I can look forward to some reasonable quotes.

just took out my new policy with Greenlight, the quote was nearly 1/2 the cost of my renewal would have been with Flux.

Have heard nothing but good things about greenlight,so here's to another uneventful years motoring :grinning:

To anyone not yet tried Greenlight I would strongly advise you to do so. I just got an unbelievable quote from them (y)

Tony what class is the cover offered, ie is it to and from a FIXED place of work or to various work places?

Hi Baracus,

Use wise, our quotations are offered on the basis of commuting to a fixed place of work.

This can be varied when contacting our office for further details, but our schemes are aimed at performance or modified (ie. cherished) vehicles as opposed to company cars for commercial travelling.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Tony

A while ago, I got a quote from Greenlight for my ST200 which was fantastic. The problem is that when I informed them I had a non disclosure they said they wouldn't cover me:sob:

Is this standard policy? It was in 2004 and I didn't inform my insurers at the time about bigger alloys and lowering springs. (if I thought it was going to be a problem I would have put the standard parts back on as they were sitting there)

I have been insured since then with 3 different companies. All had no problem with the non disclosure and I'm currently with Endsleigh. Am I stuck with this for the rest of my time on the roads or does it wipe off the record at some stage. Would quite like to go to Greenlight(y)

Afternoon CJ,

We are offering free cover for some remap's where vehicle models are performing extremely well for us.

Simply mention that to our staff when calling to arrange cover and they will be able to check as to whether this applies to your model.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Kenny,

Not having your full details to trace I will talk globally as to our stance.

We do a decent job here, offer good cover in a plain english (ie. no hidden clauses/excesses) way and have very good technical knowledge in relation to performance cars along with their potential modifications.

What is really quite annoying and has unfortunately been prolific from what we've seen so far is a higher proportion of non-disclosure from the province than anywhere else in the UK.

When presenting risks to Underwriters, as your agent we need to capture the correct details first time - basically, declare everything and tell us the truth first time.

Our underwriters will not deal with clients who are deemed to lack integrity and with risks being tracked by both entity and area it does show the source of business in a very poor light.

Basically - DECLARE ALL and let us worry about sourcing cover, let us do our job.

Non-disclosure is wholly unacceptable to both Greenlight and our Underwriters and We WILL NOT react well to non-disclosure, or fraudulent activity surrounding any dealings with us.

One thing that I wish to make absolutely clear to you all is that YOU CAN DECLARE ALL MODIFICATIONS to us, we rate them sensibly and are competitive. We DO NOT treat modified car owners as 'boy racers', they are always regarded as good moral risks.

Kind regards

Tony

Disappointing to hear about the non disclosure. I have to admit to being guilty of this tho it was 6 years ago and I honestly had no idea that it was necessary. Our underwriters covered us in the end thankfully but from then on I declared everything.

Hurry up and cover S14's Tony ffs!!
