Got a good quote for the 330ci of greenlight - only £30 cheaper than my current insurance was, though cheaper none the less :grinning:

I will be keeping an eye out for when you start providing cover for imports as I have to keep my Supra and BM with the one insurer at the moment as they are allowing me my no claims discount on both policys

Thanks for the kind comments people.. Very much appreciated :grinning:

From what we've seen so far it looks like we can cater for most of you that have applied for cover so far.

Hi Cess,

We're up to date on the quotes front so if you havent received a quotation (especially if it was over 24hrs ago) there may be a transmission error or problem of some kind.

If anyone is in this situation (ie. hasnt heard back) would you please PM me or call us on 01277 263030 so we can investigate.

Kind regards

Tony

Yep - it's not in the junk folder either :worried:

Just thought I'd mention - that's a damned impressive quote on the modified starlet Tony, really chuffed with that result especially as it covers all the modification work.

(I'll ignore the first quote were the decimal point was in the wrong place as it gave a bit of a scare :confounded: )

Will definitely be in contact when the car is finished and prepared for the road.

Many thanks!

Hi Steve,

I'd be grateful if you (or anyone) could elaborate as to the extent of Quinn Direct's cover?

1. Do they replace modified parts on a like-for-like basis, or is it a case of them acknowledging mods & charging for what they perceive to be an increased risk & then adopting a "replace as/with standard" approach?

2. Do they offer a track cover extension?

3. Do they have an agreed value option for heavily modified vehicles?

4. Do they guarantee a hire car (not just a courtesy car when in for repair) if your car is written off or stolen?

These are in addition to the standard policy benefits that you would expect.

Your comments as to our rating are noted, but at this stage we are still finding our feet out there in pricing terms and are growing in expertise every day.

When in comparison to most standard everyday Insurer policies our cover is usually superior for the specialist vehicle owner and even if only slightly less will accomodate future plans or changes without an issue.

Kind regards

Tony

Just put a quote in there.Hopefully will hear back good news from Greenlight-i doubt they can beat Quinns quote but i shall see. It's really good to see an insurer taking an active interest in forums/car clubs.

Hi Jonny,

Quotations are usually fairly rapid in turn around and you should have it back by now.

The only thing that I noticed when checking to see when it was dispatched was that you used a hotmail address, so may need to check your spam/junk filter.

Also, our underwriters rate you as the age you are at the start of the policy for the whole year - so if your renewal is due after your next birthday (April) our rate will reduce further.

Kind regards

Tony

Yeah i got it ok Tony thanks.Very good quote, a bit more than Quinn but i shall be weighing up the extras that you offer closer to the time. One quick question, my cover is up 10 days before i turn 23.Should this make a difference i.e am i better waiting until after my birthday or does this not affect the quote?
Cheers
Jonny

Hi Jonny,

We will be able to reduce your rate by in the region of £100 if you can break out the mountain bike and hang on until your birthday to Insure (ive asked our quote team to re-process & make a note of the rate within the client notes section of the quotation so you'll probably receive a 2nd e-mail).

Most Insurers rate you at the age you were at the start date of the policy for the entire duration of the policy, so once you've done this once this will pay off for the rest of your Insurance life.

Kind regards

Tony

You say you dont insure the E36 m3

Is this the same with am M badged cars?

Im toying with the idea of either an E46 M3 convertible or an M5. And Im with you already until august and dont want to have to switch

In order to stay competitive and keep our schemes available long term we do not cover vehicle models that have consistently performed poorly for a period of 3 or more years from a claims frequency/payout perspective.

I do recognise that this may be annoying for those of you that own one of the excluded models, but unlike some Insurers we do not adopt the unsustainable strategy of subsidy of poor performing vehicle models by loading the other risks that have performed well.

L7 KVV,

To answer your specific question, the E46 M3 and all M5 models are performing ok so far and we would be able to offer new business, renewal & mid-term quotations for these models.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi

Can I get insurance for temporary summer driving with very limited miles for an Escort Cosworth? you'd be looking at well under 1k miles within that period only used as a Sunday drive. It would be the third car after mine and the wifes so would be rarely out.

Cheers.

Hi Rocky,

At this stage our Underwriters only offer annual policies within the province.

We could limit the mileage to a really low level but with the policies being annual only & it being your first year with our Underwriters, you would be subject to quite high cancellation rates if you cancelled mid-term.

Once you get past renewal, cancellation is on a pro-rata (daily) basis but until then you're on a percentage scale that reflects the hefty admin involved in setting up/vetting a new policy.

NCB wise, due to the type of vehicles we cover we would require actual NCB to quote so if you dont have spare NCB you would need to transfer the bonus from your other vehicle to our policy, which may involve your having to seek a 'mirrored' NCB policy for the everyday vehicle.

Kind regards

Tony
