After waiting what felt like an eternity from placing the deposit I finally collected my Megane RS 300 Trophy last Thursday.
A bit of background… I wasn’t planning on selling my Cup-S but I did message the owner (same guy who I bought the Cup-S from) regarding the Trophy a good few months back enquiring about the car on the off chance it might be for sale - it wasn’t. Fast forward to September and he messaged out of the blue and a deal was struck pretty quickly. There was a chap from Dublin who was keen on the Cup-S so off it went to a new home without being advertised making everything that bit easier.
Options added on top of the standard Trophy spec;
Liquid Yellow paint
Recaro alcantara interior
Rear parking camera
R-Link 2 multimedia with 8.7" screen
The previous owner also added some tasty OEM upgrades including;
Full titanium Akrapovic Exhaust & Akrapovic Diffuser (this is the only non Trophy-R in the UK to have both fitted)
Matt black Fuji Light wheels (I also bought the diamond cut version)
RS Performance panel filter
Forge oil cap
Forge boost hoses
Shark fin aerial
Xpel PPF applied by NVN London to bonnet, front bumper, headlights, RS logo lights, wings and silver blade
Window trims de-chromed by NVN London
When the facelift was released they dropped the manual box so this is the very last manual Renaultsport before everything went EDC and with Renaultsport soon cease to exist this is definitely a long term keeper!
I’ve driven just over 600 miles in it and I love it. Genuinely can’t believe the car is mine. The condition, level of spec and modifications after delivery are exactly what I would have fitted myself (except the Akra goodies as I couldn’t afford to buy them new!).
Plans? Not much to be honest. I have lowered every car I’ve owned and I would like a subtle drop but I’m not sure how a set of springs would affect the 4 wheel steer. Other than that I will be having the door handles and wing badges de-chromed.
