Lad forget the GT35, theyre ancient now. A precision is what you want, 6262 is about GT35 sized. I've a 6466 on the way for the MR2 and it's way more capable than a GT40 and spools similar to a GT35.

The 6266 was WAY better than the GT35 I temporarily have back on now. Sold it there to part fund the 64

make sure and get one of the new CEA ones.

How are they ancient? It's like everything else.. There's new model out all the time.. Same as your mr2.. could say they are ancient but if you get the power your want .. no one cares who age it is ..As long as it gets me the power I'm looking for.. I'm happy :grinning: and plus there's only 4000 mile on the turbo and if you knew the price I was gettin it for.. You would be in shock :grinning:

Ah it's just the newer technology really, you'd said you wanted to be quicker than yer man, so going with a precision v a GT would have guaranteed that.

there's reasons why the gt35r is still the most used turbo on a high powered evo mate .
- useability and reliability being the main 1's .;)
plus it's the perfect blend of driveability and outright poke when required without taking a week to spool up .
but don't take my word for it ....
http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-engine-turbo-drivetrain/592741-gtx3582r-pt6262.html

gtx35 is a gt35 with a slightly different wheel making a few more hp but essentially the same thing iirc.
having been on the mlr for 6 years i've seen various set-ups come and go but the gt35 is still just as popular now as it was then .
and really anyone that says they can use every bit of the power from a gt35 on the road is talking out of their arse (not a chance)
- so why would you possibly want even more (on paper for the pub) unless you're a serious drag racer ??
i'm sure johnny armstrong or maybe stevie turbo would know a lot more on the subject.

The GTX is their completely new design supposedly to replace the GT, like the GT replaced the T.

The unreliability of the older precisions was pre 2010

Horses for courses, all I know is the precision spools better and gives better oomph than the Garrett I have. The reason I want more is to see how far it can go before something breaks, because I like my car better when there is something to fix.

I'm with Bronk and scub on this one..also AIRFORCE1 aka mr Armstrong recommended me to get the GT35r and he's probably drove more high powered evos than anyone in this country so I reckon it's a good choice

The newer GTX billet range are great turbos, they are a good bit better than the older non billet GT range. The newer Precision turbos would probably be better than the GT range.

I haven't a notion what turbo to fit to them Gareth. I just fit whatever looks similar to whatever Peanut happens to draw. It looked liked a full race twin scroll 35r the night before I did yours. Hence that's what your stuck with now chum. I'd suggest listening to the guys that work around evos alot instead of Peanut might be a suggestion for future reference :grinning:

Decided to get stuck into cleaning the Evo today since the weather has been superb and I've a few days off :grinning:

Started off using clay bay and quick detailer .. Surprisingly the paint wasn't to bad :grinning:

Then decided to use orchard autocard iron cleance on the whole car.. I've had to use it on the wheels before ( the joys of having big stoppers ) and its always done a first class job :grinning: so sprayed it all
Over the car .. Including door sills and frames and here's the results
