Many Things.
Went with the owner to pick the car up from Henning Fabrications last night and I have to say the quality of the workmanship is unreal!!! Richard's attention to detail is second to none and is definitely money well spent...

So Emmett, who's going to paint it??? :p

tinners - i think that bronze one is still about. seen one at ballymena car show last year

jonny1992 - i was lucky enough that the previous owner had already got me the engine and all with it, i thnk he mentioned £1000 or £1200 to get it here (engine included)

roverspeed - they aren't the same type of slots as in the car chris has shown but theyre like a replica type made by wolfrace. id sell them if your interested yeah

lappin tyre, jack civic, ronnie g and mtkelly - cheers lads, long way off but slowly but surely getting there

jarlath - dont no yet... do ya no of anyone??? lol thanks from giving me a hand btw

chris - that ta22 is absolutely stunning, totally worth every penny spent on it

Love this shape of a celica, there was a red around in Lurgan a while ago such a headturner.

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

richard ya call the fella. was more or less taken on as a favour to my mate to be honest lad. i no he mentioned that he'd not take another one on cause he hasnt got the room for it (small double garage) and cant do any other work inthe garage. i no you'd like better news than that. is there much work to be done?

bits and pieces mate. back drivers side footwell, minor bits like bonnet needs a bit of pawn and the only bad signes on the car is at the corners of the bumpers etc. there metal on our car as im sure prob yours too. same era! but really looking forward to getting stuck in. the main worry for me is how to get the underneath done as no one near me will touch it. to big a job need someone with one of those spit/rotissery jobbys lol!

how you going about the underneath?

underneath my car was actually reasonably solid bar one patch on the drivers footwell so thats the only patch needed. im not going for the totally amazing underneath all the polished diff's and painted metalwork for the simple fact that i wana drive this car and not worry about it when it rains so im basically going to underseal the metalwork with waxoil as its already been done before and powdercoat and galvanize all the suspension and drive components.

to be honest nicky your best to ask jarlath (mr.mint) he'd be the man to talk to richard about doing it.

few photos not that she's home and back in the garage.

sorry aint been on in a while.
dufunk - yeah the chassis is fairly strong but they are very light tinned so i suppose they would be a good car for weighing next to nothing

progress has been slow but i have started to strip back the paint and prepare the engine bay for paint. hopefully by the end of november id have decided on a colour and started painting.

rite back to getting things done on this car, its been a while so ive pulled the car out into the middle of the garage and stripped down the axles. theyre going away this week to get powdercoated and painted. the shell is going to get prepped shortly and all being well painted before summer. fingers crossed.

Honestly the colour in your profile pic is one of the nicest they come in. That or a really modern white paint.

This is so bloody cool!
The only thing I would have done differently would have been to put a more modern engine into it...

Hats off though, cant wait to see it finished!

The colour of the one you sold is awesome, a metallic grey could work as well?

Love the car and love the thread.

Before I bought my RS I went to look at a TA22GT shell and 80% of the parts to finish it off, I went with the intention of buying it but I just didnt have big enough balls to take the job on. I'll probably always regret it and admire someone that is able to finish a project like this off.
I'll have a TA22 or 23 some day though.;)

Only seeing this thread now! Word can't describe how much hate I have for you :p I thought about looking for one of these when I was back home, but I thought it would be near impossible to find one. Must do a bit of research and try and find one over here.
