Wanted: Record Engineers vice

I thought I was being helpful posting that but I guess not. Next time I see any car related I won’t bother.

its always worth posting just seems like that one has had a very hard life unfortunately. like i said in my previous post. if you could get it for 20 or 30 quid it would be worth a punt. just wouldn't want anyone thinking its worth big dough for something rough that needs a fair amount of work to make it usable.

Honestly as Pete said it’s only worthwhile for someone who could fix it or make their own jaws for example. Just bought a set of knurled jaws for my record 34 vice and they were £90 alone. Tricky size to find. But most jaws would cost £40-65 for those alone.

good vice though for someone wanting a project. Always worthwhile posting things like that so don’t be put off.

I bought a Record vice from my local motor factor's, great sturdy old thing, I gave 50 quid for it. Tj Hamiltons in Portadown, he has a load of big old vices for sale usually

Normally stuff at fourtowns goes cheap but someone has gone caught.

is that 240 for a 24 and 170 for a 23? Im after a 110 or a 112 heavy duty or even a normal 5 . looks like an 83 there too

Not sure on £240 some are dear enough but I got a really nice Record vice off him and bid him 50 on it.

also, 112 vices are crazy prices. Even ones with crappy jaws and needing a full strip down

I know but I just wants one cuz.... I have a really nice 25 and a 5 already. I had a 4 I wish i'd never sold and a 52 . Id settle for another 4 or 5 but Id like an 83 or 23 etc, maybe something with the anvil built in. a 112 in decent shape out of england might have to be the option.
what might you have available, pm me even might just be wishful thinking on my part
