What Did You Do To Your Car Today?

Not my car but spent the day cleaning my sisters DS3

for some reason whoever bought it brand new didn’t spec alloy wheels, though it came with a host of other extras... odd

spent the past year trying to source a set of alloys and luckily found a set of 16” with matching purple centre caps with Michelin tyres ... so I got them fitted last night along with painting

All broken
Maybe im just not picking this up right but is it just normal perforated leather on a door panel or some fancy version thats different from the norm? Royal do perforated leather if its the normal stuff that you need? Albeit red.

Well despite previously saying they could re-do my wheel, Royal have emailed back to say they don’t have that terracotta colour leather. So that sucks.

Had a lot of fun with the M3 today.

I was lucky to have got a set of full carbon doorcards front and rear from the cutters forum. Had them for a while but only got time to fit and swop things over today.

and my god I’m in love!!!
they match the dash and trim pieces which @big_pete was so generous to donate and it’s made a nice difference.

also swapped the side mirror glass for replacement items as the originals had perished a bit and had the weird leakage spots in them.
I also have a replacement rear view mirror but it takes a wee bit of work and a spot of soldering so I’ll leave that for another day.

What does that do?

the 350z never fully allows you to disengage traction control, stability control etc.
This little system overrides then when you have the button engaged.
But issue with the zed is also from factory you can’t press throttle and front brake at same time, making burnouts etc impossible. This little button also overrides that lol.
Guy on uk forum created the hardware and then little piece of software that works along side ecu. Much healthier than just chopping brake lines etc.

This car looks absolutely outstanding on the road. I seen it on the Larne line a while ago, which I'm guessing was actually Pete driving.

Done the rear view mirror swap today which wasn’t as daunting as I thought it was going to be.
Replacement glass was bought (as was the side mirrors) from mirrorjohn and even though I’m the most ham fisted person when it comes to soldering I managed to do it without destroying anything!!!

Started doing some tidying on my other halfs motor for when she starts driving. Headlights were really bugging me with usual jap yellow haze starting, so cracked out the G3, G6 and super resin and gave it a good hand job (YEOO).

You'll never see the money back on this car with all the spending you've been doing on it 🌝

Gave the brakes on my mini a refurb over the last couple of days!

Hand an absolute nightmare getting the old discs off, the nuts holding them on were completely ******

Anyway, new vented discs fitted, callipers & carriers stripped down and given a painted refurb with new decals.

Gave it a quick wipe and replaced a wheel speed sensor which was throwing ABS and stability control lights. Bit of a pain doing it on the drive with a Halfords value spec jack and basic tools, but managed to sort it.
