You wouldn't expect bolts to come loose like that from a professional builder... Certainly not bolts like that, in places like that...

Car rocks though 😁 😎

Awk, these things happen, I doubt the diff when it was in a 1300cc MK2 Escort thought it was ever going to see nearly 300hp & 22" of Rubber bolted to it!

I'm not sure if its the stress / load or resonation loosens the bolts, they where installed with Loctite, over torqued & actually Flywheel bolts instead of the Diff bolts as they are stronger!

When I mentioned the diff being Seized to my Race Engineer he said its one of two things.. the CWP has broken or bolts have slackened..

The drag on that diff would have had a massive effect on the performance so I'm expecting quicker next day out!

Hard to imagine loctite coming loose; especially the red permanent stuff. Unless the threads were oily when it was applied

I finished the last 9hr's of an endurance race with Red Loctite holding the stripped crankshaft bolt. That stuff doesn't come loose.

I guess it depends how much and how much heat ? And the "overtorque" aspect doesnt really sound appealing. Fasteners are designed to work within certain ranges.

Very unusual for such a bolt to come loose. That said, I know I've just buzzed mine up with a rattle gun and loctite as they're a ballix to hold to torque lol. But never had one come undone

Haha... nothing says 'stay bitch' more than a dose of glue and a dugga-dugga!

So i 'had' to take a few days away from the TR7 to get this truck back together again..

Gearbox and Diff Rebuild, No Damage to either luckily.. New Bearings into the Diff etc. Win!

Got my little mini Petrol head out to give me a hand assemble the Axle and keep me right

I Had to then Rip out the fuel system again, i had borrowed a swirl pot, high and low pressure fuel pumps to try and resolve a miss fire last day out, which it did so i then i had to neatly rather than loosely install some new parts of my own and install the rebuilt gearbox, yesterday was a long day!

Got out testing today, did approx 25laps - It was a different experience driving the sequential gearbox without the blip and flat shift modules but the lap times where blistering so i'm really looking forward to this Saturdays GT Race at Kirkistown,..

Due to popular demand here is a few laps on Board..

That is some pedalling on a test day!! Car looks unreal. You’ll be hard to beat with those times!

I’ll very possibly be down on Saturday so maybe see you then!

Unreal video, the difference in this vs some of the road cars going round kirky is night & day and some of those looked quick to begin with! 57s is nutts, IIRC Michael Dunlop was doing 56s or something on a superbike. Looks like it just eats up the corners.

It's close to being the perfect weapon for kirky. (y)
I'd love to have a go in something like a re-engineered 37S Crossle with a proper engine and sequential box.

Thanks folks, the car has had its teething issues but it was just mega yesterday, so composed and easy to drive..

I suppose the engine is probably very similar space to that run in the BTCC Swindon Cavaliers!

I’d say I’m going through debtors flat about 135 maybe nipping 140 before starting to brake up for colonial 1..

God that's nice, yes Sports 2000 chassis with a proper engine.
I did a re-fresh of TDR's 37S at Crossle in 1987, loved the shape of it but thought it must have been a bit held back with the asthmatic FF2000 pinto boat anchor. (140bhp of fury)
Always thought one with a proper light and powerful engine would have been a lovely thing.
Wouldn't have thrown that 42S out of bed either, good price for what it was tbh.

Just had a chance to watch the video of testing, really impressive and where it looks the most impressive to me is the turn in and corner speed at the hairpin and colonial 1... it just points and goes!! Clearly very well setup and steered!

What does the car weigh now and what sort of the power? Last year my car weighed approx 1000kg with me in it and 301hp and managed a few 60sec laps and averaged 61's on a good day, 59's was the dream but not sure what it would take in a saloon car
